Today, Hong Lin was unusually anxious.
Although she had "personally" arranged the venue for The Fated, she still grew nervous when Cheng Shi called to say they needed to hold a meeting immediately. Of course, this nervousness certainly wasn't because of her unknown fellow Fated—it came from... Them.
Hong Lin simply wasn't good at using her brain; she wasn't brainless. After witnessing several upheavals across the universe and the fall of gods, she had long since seen through the so-called endpoint of this game. It had to be breaking free from the restraints of the existing world and heading toward a shore she could not foresee.
But the existing restraints were hardly so easy to break. Not to mention that there was still an exalted Creator in the true universe, even in this starry sky, the gods remained the masters of the universe. Wanting to break free from the shackles meant making enemies of certain gods—or all of them.
She herself could be considered half a candidate for godhood. At least according to the "rules," she was qualified to challenge Them. Cheng Shi went without saying; as the only person who had already played a card at the Gods' Covenant Assembly, he was even more the leader of the will to break the shackles of this universe.
But what about the others?
For the Fate Weaver to lay her cards on the table meant that The Fated would most likely defy the will of certain gods in their subsequent actions. Before meeting them, she still wasn't sure whether these unknown companions could stand together with resolve and unity.
All she could do was trust, for Destiny's sake, that every one of them was a fearless warrior who would press forward without hesitation!
After hanging up, Hong Lin immediately went to
