When An Mingyu arrived at the Fire Keeper Hall, Qin Xin was the only one there.
Looking at the heavy armor reflecting a cold gleam, Blind Man felt incredibly conflicted.
Only then did she realize what Qin Xin's "Welcome home" at the end of the last Special Trial had truly meant. This founder of those who upheld goodness had personally sent another version of himself—one who also upheld goodness—to another world, then welcomed her arrival with that same greeting.
He was still the same person, yet he was no longer the same person.
"You're here, Mingyu."
Qin Xin smiled and waved at Blind Man, but a trace of sorrow lingered in that smile.
Blind Man sensed his sorrow and merely assumed he was mourning the Blind Man who originally belonged to this world.
"You... really were willing to let her leave alone."
Qin Xin froze for a moment, then smiled and shook his head. "There's nothing to worry about. I know that in that world, there's another me who will take care of her."
Blind Man understood what Qin Xin meant, but she couldn't bring herself to smile.
Because of all the despair she had experienced today, the founder of the Fire Keepers could hardly be said to have "taken care" of her. Instead, it had been the Fate Weaver who had arrived "in time," stitching her shattered destiny back together and saving her.
Of course, Blind Man wasn't complaining. She was merely lamenting Destiny—especially her own.
Seeing that Blind Man had arrived but wasn't saying anything, Qin Xin quickly guessed what she was thinking. He sighed and said:
"Perhaps the Fire Keepers' original purpose never accounted for a situation like this. But Mingyu, you have to believe me—we never meant any harm."
Blind Man sighed as well. "I know.
