For example, someone suggested that since he had a revolver, he could shoot the door lock and break in. Someone else said he could go get the spare key. That reminded Zheng Li that, since he already knew the plot in advance, he could simply ask the old butler for the keys to everyone's rooms beforehand.

Zheng Li also felt that everyone could gather in one place. The thing doing the killing seemed capable of attacking only one person at a time. As long as everyone stayed together, they should definitely be able to survive the first night safely.
