Often, he only needed to take a rough glance before his mind filled in the rest of the scene, which was what made it seem real.
It was like many games. If the setting was a city, such as in a racing or war game, the graphics would look extremely realistic because reality provided a reference. Top-tier graphics could even reach the point where the fake was indistinguishable from the real.
That was why, when people evaluated the effects of a game engine or the skill of a production team, they mostly used the modeling and textures of objects that did not exist in reality as a reference.
Thus, there had always been sayings online that if one truly wanted to see Morning Star's graphics, one had to look at a genuinely fantastical setting.
But now, this filthy, stinking mud, those towering trees blocking out the sunlight, and the mottled, gleaming armor of the red-clad knight before him were all so real, so within reach.
