"The earliest networks were indeed designed that way. But most of what we use nowadays relies on a server-based model. The information is stored on servers, and when it's needed, you request that it be sent over."

"So, is it actually possible to leave all knowledge online, then pray for it to be delivered when you need it?"

Jost felt that he had grasped something.

"Of course it is. It just requires extremely fast network speeds—uh, I mean, communication speeds between the server and the device. If the speed is too slow and the response is delayed, it'll be extremely difficult to use."
