The towering humans, the technology that surpassed its era, their battles against contamination across various foreign realms, and even their ability to seal away the Outer Gods and the Old Ones.
Taken together, these elements reminded Lu Ban of that civilization which had already been destroyed.
Once he realized this, he felt there was no need to keep hiding it.
"Are you people from the Glorious Realm?"
he asked directly.
"The Glorious Realm? If you mean the Glorious Library, then all I can say is that I once interned there. It was truly a painful yet beautiful period of my life, haha."
Old Song did not admit to it.
Lu Ban thought about it and decided that made sense. Just as people in ancient times would not call themselves people of the Tang or Han dynasties, the Glorious Realm was probably a name given to them by people of later generations.
"We aren't experimental subjects."
Lu Ban spoke again.
"Not experimental subjects? That's strange. Yang did create some little people about your size. Could it be that you aren't the ones he brought over earlier for experiments?"
Old Song frowned slightly and leaned closer. His head was already enormous, giving off an intense sense of oppression.
"I'm not entirely sure who this Yang you're talking about is, but we are... well, we're your descendants, in a sense. We came here from the future."
Lu Ban explained.
"The future? How interesting. So Yang's experiment really did succeed."
Old Song raised a finger and gently rubbed Lu Ban's head before speaking again.
"Then did you come from the future to help us?"
"It wouldn't be quite right to call it help."
Lu Ban thought about how to explain it.
