"Certainly," Master Jakoin said. "Just as Mosa created humanity, seven days from now, you will have your first son."
Lena: "If the Church wants to verify it, will they discover anything?"
Master Jakoin shook his head, his tone still calm but confident. "I swear in the name of God that my magic is perfect. The Church will find nothing. Your son will be healthy, intelligent, legitimate, and carry the blood of you and your husband. He will be a direct descendant of Earl Presto."
"Do I need to do anything?" Lena asked again.
Master Jakoin: "You don't need to do anything. I'll use magic to hypnotize you. When you wake up, you'll be able to look forward to becoming a mother."
"Hypnotize me?"
Master Jakoin guessed at Lena's concerns and smiled faintly. "Your body is very beautiful, but you should know that I have no desire for women."
After a brief silence, Lena said, "You don't seem to have any desire for men, either."
Master Jakoin neither confirmed nor denied it.
Lena watched the gray-robed mage who had remained a mystery to her until now. "I don't know whether you're interested in my body, but as long as you can guarantee a perfect spell, I don't mind paying a small price."
"Of course." Master Jakoin added, "A perfect spell."
Lena said nothing more and quietly lay down.
She still felt uneasy. After all, based on her understanding of Mosaism, she knew perfectly well that she was attempting something dangerous.
Betraying a holy marriage, deceiving a devout ally, dabbling in forbidden magic... If anyone found out, she would certainly be sent to the Inquisition's most serious offenders' ward. Not even Fangfro's Mercy could save her.
