Gagnor discovered that the panel's "appraisal" of a Holy Name followed a simple principle.

Add the attribute bonuses after halving the attribute-cap bonuses. If there was a blessing, double the result. Fate did not count. The final value was represented by the radius of the orb.

Using this principle as a reference, Gagnor treated the "final value" as the worth of a Holy Name and divided them into three tiers.

He called the worst tier "Trash Holy Names," worth no more than 15 points. Next were "Ordinary Holy Names," worth between 15 and 30 points. Most Holy Names belonged to these two tiers, which showed just how stingy the gods were.

Then there were "Rare Holy Names," worth between 30 and 45 points.

As for those worth more than 45 points, Gagnor had never seen one.

Of course, this was only a rough classification. It considered neither Fate nor the effects of blessings, but it was still highly useful as a reference.

During the previous two upgrades, Gagnor had looked through nearly every Holy Name. "Trash Holy Names" were truly trash, "Ordinary Holy Names" occasionally had something worthwhile, and only "Rare Holy Names" were worth serious consideration.

As this standard of classification took shape in Gagnor's mind, the Holy Names scattered across the sky like stars automatically separated into three sections, with the "Rare Holy Names" arranged in the most conspicuous area.

He examined these "Rare Holy Names," and two of them soon drew his particular attention.
