Background
Gagnor grew up in the church at Driftwood Town alongside Raymond. During a blood-sacrifice incident involving the local priests, he chose to resist rather than abandon Raymond, attacking Priest Green before later killing Priest Grimm. Raymond died from his injuries in Gagnor's arms, but not before asking him to bring his Brass Necklace to Garan Grand Cathedral. Gagnor accepted the request, staged the cabin fire as an accident, and convinced the townspeople and Priest Gerald of that account. 7 8
After recovering, Gagnor used the experience gained from Priest Grimm's death to level up. His ability to select Holy Names instead of merely receiving them made him wary of the Church's expectations; because his names lacked Mosaism affiliation, he planned to leave Driftwood Town once he came of age. 9
He later traveled to South Sea Town with Kalkulo, sold Goblin ears through the Goblin Governance Association, and entered the Gray Hawk Mercenary Group under a non-combat Level 1 pharmacist contract. The agreement provided lodging and wages in exchange for Healing Stones and Pain Relief Potions, while leaving him free to join battles voluntarily. 15 16 17
Appearance
Gagnor became noticeably taller and physically stronger during a year of disciplined training. By age twenty, he had grown more than ten centimeters and was regarded as tall; later consumption of Lesser Titan Elixirs made his build still more robust. 38 256
- Usually wears an alchemist's robe or Gray Hawk Mercenary Group clothing. 18 38
- Keeps Raymond's worn Brass Necklace, often presenting it as a Mosa devotional symbol. 16 177
- Uses Blood Disguise to alter his face and build for black-market activity; one disguise using magical-beast blood gave him a Minotaur-like appearance. 35 45
- Has impersonated both Niels and Loha to delay suspicion surrounding their deaths. 193 194
Personality
Gagnor is calculating, self-reliant, and strongly motivated by advancement. He weighs the risks of Holy Names, contracts, black-market trades, and dangerous expeditions before committing himself, often prioritizing long-term survival and profit over appearances. 9 17 32 79
His compassion is selective rather than absent. He risked himself to save Raymond, Casca, and Kasuga, and later paid young Jarell's debt out of a sense of responsibility for the role Sith Dragon Potions played in the boy's father's fate. 7 8 27 28 184
Gagnor can also be ruthless when he believes someone poses a threat or intends exploitation. He killed a hunter after the man attempted to claim his Everlasting Moss and threaten him with prosecution, and he ultimately acted against Loha after recognizing the gang leader's scheme to enslave fighters through debt and Sith Dragon Potions. 176 190 193

Story Role / Major Arcs
Driftwood Town
Gagnor's early story centers on the blood-sacrifice incident at the church, Raymond's death, and the deception used to conceal Priest Grimm's killing. These events give him both the experience needed for his first level-up and his reason to leave Driftwood Town. 7 8 9
South Sea Town and the Gray Hawk Mercenaries
In South Sea Town, Gagnor becomes an apothecary for the Gray Hawk Mercenary Group, develops Swift Breeze, learns Swordsmanship from Cassandra's example, and begins selling magical goods through the black market. 10 17 20 35
Presto, the Underdark, and Laerinis
During the Presto conflict and later underground expeditions, Gagnor develops as both a combatant and a schemer. He chooses Laerinis while facing a Fallen Angel, kills Silverfang to secure access to a kobold treasury, and becomes entangled in the Gray Dwarves' slave system and Matorius's enslavement magic. 64 113 137
Nordanlun War
Gagnor participates in the assault on Yemen positions, kills a Level 6 priest, and joins the siege of Labuzat Fortress as an army alchemist. He wins three consecutive death duels, defeats Makar, helps repel Dibuto reinforcements, and receives the honorary title Champion of Nordanlun. 154 156 161 164
Loha and Niels
After learning how Loha exploited fighters through Sith Dragon Potions and debt, Gagnor turns against the Iron Fist Brotherhood's leadership. He kills Loha, while Colin kills Niels; afterward, Gagnor learns that Niels had been unfairly blamed for crimes committed by impersonators. He disguises himself as both Niels and Loha to delay discovery, then buries Niels in Priest Enrik's grave. 190 193 194
Desert Bishop and Cassandra's Resurrection
Gagnor travels toward the Asul Desert, opposes the Desert Bishop's undead-conversion plan, and uses controlled undead, Holy Oil, and tactical deception in the fight. He later uses a Fireball Orb against the Black Dragon cultists, enabling Cassandra's resurrection ritual to conclude. 215 216 207 208
Academy and Adventuring
As a student of Axis Magic Academy, Gagnor joins the Exploration Society, registers with the Adventurers Guild, and undertakes increasingly dangerous expeditions. He reaches Level 7, seals a Level 10 Gauss Beholder in the Sin Cage, completes Sunderland's Oracle, and continues investigating threats and political secrets around Akes City. 241 242 252 259 264 268
