Locke placed his palm on the Amethyst Matrix he had borrowed from Witch Sophia. It displayed a spirit power of 224.
He nodded, delight appearing on his face. "When I broke through to First-Class Wizard Apprentice, my spirit power was 220. After two months of using the ordinary meditation method and consuming a large amount of magical resources, I only gained 1 point of mana."
"But tonight, after using the Advanced Meditation Method for three hours, I gained 3 points of mana."
Locke said, "When someone first begins using the Advanced Meditation Method, there is a beginner's bonus period. During this month, they can even meditate for the entire month without needing to reserve ten days for sleep and rest. But after a month, the rate of improvement gradually slows."
"No matter what, I'll pile up resources during this month first. I need to fully exploit this beginner's bonus period, make the greatest possible use of the Advanced Meditation Method, and increase the rate at which my mana grows."
Locke was currently eighteen years old. He still had twenty-two years until he turned forty.
If he wanted to become a Formal Wizard, he needed to maintain an increase of at least thirty-odd points of mana every year to have a chance.
Forty was a threshold.
Although Locke did not know the exact reason, after the age of forty, the academy higher-ups seemed to believe that a First-Class Wizard Apprentice's chances of becoming a Formal Wizard would drop drastically. Their benefits and resources would also be reduced sharply.
With a thought, Locke put the bit of energy he had just recovered into a meditative state. Then, he once again sensed the Natural Plane deep within the void and transformed the Natural Plane's power radiation into mana to replenish his own reserves.
