Publishing an Article

Locke left the Potion Laboratory with his experimental data and first went to the first inner floor of the Grand Library, where he found the Dwarf scholar Aul.

When Aul saw Locke, he smiled, his eyes narrowing. "We meet again, Potion Master Locke."

"Is there anything I can help you with?"

"The two articles you purchased from the library a month ago—did they help you at all...?"

Locke nodded slightly. "They were indeed very useful."

Aul smiled gently. "That's good, then."

Locke said to Aul, "I came to see you for three things. First, this potion data report. I'd like to submit it. Could you see whether it can enter the Academy's public library, and roughly how many points it might receive?"

Aul curiously accepted the potion formula from Locke. He was not particularly concerned at first, but his expression soon turned serious. "Hmm... a very interesting effect, if the potion's effects are real."

"Then this potion should sell quite well."

Aul said seriously, "If all the data is genuine, I estimate this article could be rated somewhere between C and B. Since you used test subjects with Low Magic Resistance Constitution, the experimental data is of very high quality and has great reference and citation value. I think it will most likely score around seventy points."

Aul seemed to be encouraging him as he said quietly, "If Potion Master Locke were willing to disclose the potion formula, I believe you could write an A-rated article."

"If you can write an article like that at your stage, not only will your reputation rise greatly, but even the more famous societies will take notice of you. Even your wizard mentor will gain considerable prestige."

Locke smiled faintly and paid no attention to Aul's persuasion.
