Locke explained calmly, "Lady Morgana, I advanced too quickly. I only became a First-Class Wizard Apprentice this year, so I've only just begun to encounter the library's paper system."

"Teacher Sophia has treated me very well."

Lady Morgana frowned slightly.

By her method of nurturing geniuses, a Wizard Seedling should have been arranged to publish D-rank papers, or even C-rank papers, while still a Third-Class Wizard Apprentice.

That way, by the time the genius advanced to First-Class Wizard Apprentice, he would already have plenty of experience publishing papers and a certain accumulation of work.

He could then quickly earn various titles and receive all sorts of benefits.

It would also raise her reputation and strengthen her network of connections.

Of course, that was how she, as part of an academic faction, cultivated the geniuses under her wing. Sophia was different from her and had no real connections to speak of.

Besides, Sophia's initial understanding of Locke's rate of development had been mistaken.

This was a grievance between master and disciple. They would do best to pretend they had heard nothing, lest they end up offending both sides.

"You have obtained certification as a Formal Breeder."
