Inside the offices on the second floor, where Locke, Anglu, and Aixi worked.
Aixi said worriedly, "Locke, no matter what, weren't you a little too confident out there? Those patients were originally pushed onto us by them. This will only give them even more reason to keep pushing them our way..."
Anglu shook his head and stopped Aixi from continuing. "Aixi, Locke is a more outstanding Assistant Potion Maker and Breeder than either of us. Trust his judgment."
Ever since Locke had sold a jar of Memory Ointment at the shop where Anglu worked, Anglu had understood that Locke's talent in Potions surpassed his own as well.
Aixi nodded. "I was only reminding Locke. After all, cursed patients like this are troublesome. If we mishandle them, they could easily blow up in our hands."
"They'll drag down our evaluation score. Then the Outstanding Healer award at the end of the year will have nothing to do with us. Our team's score had only recently begun to rise."
"That's why everyone chooses to avoid them. If the Academy didn't force us to, who would take in victims of such troublesome new curses? And this curse even crosses multiple fields."
"It's far too easy to lose money trying to cure them, or fail to cure them and get our evaluation score lowered."
Aixi raised her brows. "I think Kali Ackerman is probably the happiest right now. I saw her gloating this morning. Their workshop wants to monopolize this year's three Outstanding Healer slots and one Distinguished Healer slot."
"That's why she sees the normal teams in the clinic as her main competitors. She must think our team is no longer a threat to them."
Locke sat at his workstation, reading a B Rank article he had borrowed from the public library.
