Sebastian and the others left the dense forest with Locke somewhat meekly. Along the way, none of them dared to speak loudly, afraid of disturbing a Formal Wizard.
They were even more nervous than when they had come.
After all, when they had arrived, Locke had only been a Wizard Apprentice. Though his status had been higher than theirs, they had still been on roughly the same level.
But now, Locke was already a Formal Wizard.
Yet the moment they left the entrance to the Forbidden Forest, Locke frowned. Instructor Harlan Vela had not been waiting for him here as agreed.
Nor had he arranged for any students to wait here.
Sebastian and the others looked puzzled. They raised their heads toward the sky and saw an enormous blood-red wooden stake. As massive as a meteor, it was descending from the heavens toward the port city housing Lilith's Cottage headquarters.
The stake was falling slowly, incredibly slowly, from the sky. Yet blood dripped from it, and the instant those drops landed on the ground, they nourished the soil, covering the earth in lush grass and flowers of breathtaking beauty.
Wherever the blood flowed, every Magic Plant thrived. Not only that, the blood nourished every Magic Creature on this land. Even ordinary people touched by the bloody rain began to grow younger.
Sebastian and the others were stunned.
"What is that? Is it some new magic developed by our school?"
"Don't be stupid. Didn't you see the Curse Magic formulas wrapped around that spell? Those are the foldable Curse Spell Formulas unique to high-level curses."
"Where is our school's large Protection Barrier, the Life Force Field?"
Only then did they realize in horror that the massive Life Force Field which had always protected the Academy headquarters had vanished.
