"Great Sage, what brings you here?"
"Venus Taibai, there's a demon at Wave Moon Cave on Wanzi Mountain in the lower realm. He's extremely powerful. Did one of your Heavenly Court's spirit pets or mounts sneak down to the Mortal Realm and become a demon again?"
"Is that so? That can't be possible." Venus Taibai was playing dumb despite knowing full well.
"It may not be some spirit pet or mount. Taibai, let me tell you plainly. That demon looks an awful lot like Kui Mulang to me."
"What?" Venus Taibai feigned surprise. "Kui Mulang?"
"That can't be right. The Heavenly Court holds roll call every three days. If Kui Mulang had gone down to the lower realm, how could no one have known?"
Sun Wukong sneered. "That demon has already been committing evil in the lower realm for thirteen years. One day in Heaven is one year on earth. If your Heavenly Court truly held roll call every three days, how many roll calls would that demon have missed by now? Isn't this the Heavenly Court's fault?"
