The Struggle Among the Three Realms, and the Struggle Over the Orthodox Path of Qi Refinement?
Before the catastrophe struck the Human Realm, Human Race martial artists had already reached a profound level in their study of Heaven and Earth Essence.
Back then, martial artists were not yet called martial artists. They were called Qi Refiners.
The name Qi Refiner was not unique to Human Race martial artists.
It was a collective term for all cultivators throughout the Three Realms.
That was because whether they were Human Race martial artists, God Race martial artists, or Nether Realm martial artists, they all needed to absorb the essence of their respective realms to cultivate.
Thus, all cultivators came to be collectively known as Qi Refiners.
In those days, the Qi Refiners of the Three Realms were not yet divided into Devil Race, God Race, and Human Race.
They were distinguished only as Nether Realm Qi Refiners, Human Realm Qi Refiners, and God Realm Qi Refiners.
However, as the cultivation world continued researching Heaven and Earth Essence, some unexpected developments emerged.
This led to major differences in how the Three Realms understood essence.
First of all, the Qi Refiners of the God Realm and Human Realm each believed that only their own cultivation methods could absorb the purest essence.
In other words, they each believed that only by cultivating with their own methods could one truly achieve immortality.
Although Qi Refiners who had entered the Divine Realm already lived for several thousand years,
that could not truly be called immortality.
Even Qi Refiners with lifespans of several thousand years ultimately could not resist the erosion of time, ending with their souls scattered and spirits dispersed.
At that point, someone proposed that perhaps only by absorbing the purest essence at the very beginning of cultivation could one truly gain immortality through cultivation.
