History

Ancient origin and decline

The Human Realm was originally called the Chaos Space. The present Human Realm, Nether Realm, and Divine Realm are independent spaces within the greater Chaos Space; the Divine and Nether Realms split from the original Human Realm, while the God Race and Demon Race originated from the Human Race 2018.

Its martial civilization was once prosperous, but its inheritance later collapsed. A major war between the Human Race and God Race severely wounded the Human Realm Core, altered the realm’s terrain, and left its former central region as a desert 1571 1594. As the realm declined and became sealed off, Human Race descendants who left could no longer return; they eventually established the Holy Wang Pavilion in the Void 1517.

By the beginning of the story, no Martial Saint had appeared on the continent for more than a thousand years, and even Saint Realm advancement was controlled by the corrupted former Heavenly Dao 1 1517.

Rediscovery and Demon Race invasion

The Human Realm remained largely hidden from the Divine and Nether Realms until passages within Netherworld Space exposed its location. Divine Realm explorers considered entry troublesome because the realm severely suppressed foreign strength, while the Nether Demon Lord viewed its population as a source of labor, cultivation resources, and political prestige 1042 1043 1047.

When the Demon Race assembled at the boundary wall, Human Realm martial artists and civilians united their will. Their Blood Essence Dragon merged with the golden dragon of popular will drawn from the Imperial Palace, enabling the Heavenly Dao to reach the God Realm 1066.

The breakthrough did not end the invasion. The Demon Race shifted from attacking the boundary wall to exhausting the Heavenly Dao. To sustain itself, the Heavenly Dao extracted the spiritual essence embedded in the realm’s mountains and rivers, weakening the Human Realm’s foundation 1069 1073. It was ultimately devoured by an unknown dark shadow, after which the boundary ruptured, void power and Dark Primal Qi entered, and widespread disasters devastated the realm 1073 1074.

Resurgence and Core crisis

Despite the Heavenly Dao’s fall, the Human Realm’s suppression forced the Nether Demon Lord to retreat after entering the realm, and healing void rifts gradually cut off the invasion force’s escape routes 1074 1083. A stronger new consciousness appeared at the boundary wall, while Primal Qi, rivers, forests, and mountains began to recover 1089.

Later revelations identified the Human Realm’s three Sovereigns:

The Human Realm Core had been polluted by a trace of Nether Realm aura left by the Nether Realm Ghost Lord. Its consciousness-body acted to secure control of the realm, but its actions caused natural disasters and spatial mutations 1571. Jiang Liu uncovered the Ghost Lord’s abandoned altar and the Soaring Sky Mirror, a realm-traversal artifact that required Human and Beast Race Blood Essence as a catalyst 1597.

After Jiang Liu destroyed the Netherworld Master’s remaining consciousness and cleared the pollution, the Core recovered and the realm’s Primal Qi began a more complete revival 1601 1603. It was later polluted again amid incursions by extraterrestrial Dark Beasts, but Jiang Liu restored it by accelerating its awakening with the Chaos Sutra 2268 2270.

The suppression intensifies near the boundary wall and can reduce even God Realm and Supreme God Realm cultivators. During the later War of Rules, it sealed approaching enemies’ Rule power and affected even Human Race hybrids who had previously resisted suppression 1918 1926.

Boundary wall

• The boundary wall’s durability is closely tied to the Heavenly Dao’s strength; defeating the guardian weakens the realm’s defenses 1069.
• The Human Realm’s barrier was considered sturdier than the Nether Realm’s, which the three Divine Realm Honored Ones shattered with a combined strike 1123.
• Jiang Liu and the Golden Giant can jointly operate the realm’s spatial power to reinforce the wall against external attacks 1926.
• The boundary wall can heal void rifts and limit the entry of Dark Primal Qi and other external forces 1077 1083.

• Jiang Liu later deposited Human Race cultivation manuals, including God Grade techniques, in the Technique Repository to rebuild the realm’s lost inheritance 1534.
