"Again!"
Becca had been opened up to a whole new world by Adam and kept playing the game of throwing and catching knives.
"That's enough."
Adam let her play for a while before smiling and interrupting her. "I think we can try the next stage."
"The next stage?"
Becca looked forward to it eagerly.
"Yeah, let's give it a try."
Adam teased, "It's very exciting."
"Okay!"
Becca nodded so rapidly her head was almost a blur, with a strange, crazed look on her face.
Adam had originally planned to throw the fruit knife directly at Becca.
That way, Becca would most likely be able to perform the basic barehanded feat of catching a blade.
But he was a cautious man, after all.
Throwing a knife at someone was different from tossing one straight up between them.
If anything went wrong, the distance would be too great. Even with Bullet Time and speed far beyond that of an ordinary person, he would not be able to keep things under control.
So he wrapped the fruit knife's blade layer upon layer, covering its sharp edge.
That way, even if Becca failed to catch it, it would not plunge straight into her neck.
"Here I come."
Once Adam was ready, he gave her a warning and threw the fruit knife in his hand toward Becca.
"Whoa!"
Becca cried out and reached out to grab the fruit knife as it flew past her side.
At normal speed, the move was utterly dazzling.
Becca looked at the fruit knife in her hand and could not stop laughing.
"This is so much fun."
