Pasadena.
Caltech Physics Department party.
"Heheha~"
Sheldon laughed out loud.
"What's so funny?"
Dr. Gablehouse asked in confusion.
"No disrespect, but you're just a high school physics teacher who got hyped up.
Your last successful experiment was nothing more than lighting a fire under your ass."
After spending so many years around Leonard, Sheldon had at least learned some basic social conventions. He politely began by saying he meant no disrespect.
"You clearly don't know that Theoretical Physicists cannot be fired in theory. You can't fire me."
"Wipe your eyes clean, watch my mouth, and see what I'm saying: you're fired!"
Dr. Gablehouse's face went completely dark.
"..."
Seeing that Dr. Gablehouse was not joking, Sheldon froze for a moment, then looked at Leonard with a wronged expression.
"Leonard, he can't fire me, can he?"
"Dr. Cooper."
Rather than calling him by name, Leonard used an extremely distant form of address. He glanced at Sheldon with a look that said, We're not close, so don't say weird things.
Then he looked at the dark-faced new department head with an expression that said, I'm confused too. I have no idea why he's talking to me.
"Dr. Gablehouse is our department head. He has every right to fire anyone!
And judging from our enthusiastic applause, any decision he makes will receive the unanimous support of all our colleagues in California's physics department!"
As he spoke, he took Howard's place and became the first to applaud, shamelessly showering Dr. Gablehouse with flattery.
Emmm.
That was right.
The first person to applaud Sheldon's firing had been Howard.
When it came to watching drama unfold and stirring up trouble, he was always first in line!
The party venue erupted in another wave of thunderous applause.
Dr. Gablehouse had originally held some grievances against Leonard and
