Dr. Gablehouse, who had followed them out, saw the look on Principal Hibbert's face. His mouth twitched, and he immediately stopped in his tracks. After thinking it over, he turned around and went back.
It was better not to barge into this situation.
There was no need to think about it. That lunatic he had fired probably had someone backing him.
But it was not that surprising.
Everyone hated that lunatic and wished he would be fired immediately, yet he had remained at Caltech just fine.
Either that lunatic really was a super genius.
Or he had someone backing him.
There was no other explanation.
Firing him so rashly now seemed impulsive and careless.
But he was already riding a tiger and could not get off.
That lunatic had mocked him in public like that. If he did not fire him, he would never be able to save face.
Besides, he was the author of several bestselling popular science books, a scientist with a name and reputation. He lacked neither wealth nor fame.
Even if that lunatic had someone backing him, why should he have to put up with this?
