A Date?
520 Apartment.
downstairs.
"Rachel, are you free next Saturday?"
After saying goodbye to Leonard, everyone arrived at the apartment building. Adam, sitting in the driver's seat, smiled and looked back at Rachel.
"Ah?"
Rachel, sitting in the back row, met Adam's gaze, her heart skipped a beat, and she said somewhat flusteredly, "Yes, I'm free."
"Then come with me to buy a sailboat?"
Adam invited.
"Well."
Rachel couldn't refuse; she couldn't even muster a modicum of reserve.
Monica and Phoebe exchanged a glance in the car, and both thought of Ross and realized they were in trouble.
Outside the car, Ross and Joey, who had just gotten out of the taxi, also heard it, Ross immediately became distraught.
"Aren't you going up together?"
After getting out of the car, Monica and the other two walked upstairs, only to find Joey leaning against the car window, talking to Adam, while Ross stood there blankly. He couldn't help but stop and ask.
"You go up first, we'll be right there."
Joey turned around and waved.
"OK".
Monica shrugged, reached out and pulled Rachel, who almost missed a step on the stairs, and went upstairs.
"What's so mysterious that Monica and the others can't know?"
Adam asked with a smile.
"Dude, what are you doing?"
Joey glanced at Ross, who was standing there dumbfounded, and frowned. "We all know that Ross likes Rachel. Although he has never had the courage to confess, and none of us think he'll last, he will confess sooner or later. As his brother, how can you ask Rachel out now?"
"I just asked her to help me buy a sailboat..."
Adam explained.
However, he was interrupted before he could finish speaking.
Ross said sourly, "Just buying a sailboat? The three of you were all acting like a family tonight..."
Is something wrong?
Adam said with a smile, "It's normal to be like family. This also shows that I'm not trying to pursue Rachel. After all, if I really wanted to pursue Rachel, I would definitely do what you did and keep nagging Leonard."
"..."
Ross's eyes widened, but he was speechless.
United States value freedom in everything, and if two people hit it off, they don't have to worry about the future in-laws' opinions. However, trying to please the future in-laws is a normal human practice.
The reason Ross likes to criticize Leonard is not only because Leonard is somewhat sharp-tongued, but also because he has a fiery temper hidden beneath his gentle exterior.
Judging from his tendency to transform into the Roaring Emperor and roar at the drop of a hat, it's clear that in the original timeline, he was also fired from the Museum of Prehistoric Creatures for the same reason.
"Is it really just about buying a sailboat?"
Joey, oblivious to Adam's sarcasm, exclaimed happily, "Adam, you really aren't pursuing Rachel?"
Ross's Sheldon perked up, and he stared longingly at Adam.
Actually, they were unsure of themselves when questioning Adam, because Ross had never confessed his feelings. Just because Ross had a crush on Rachel doesn't mean that others can't pursue her, right?
Rachel's many ex-boyfriends are saying: Who are you?
Adam's own condition made Ross feel heavy-hearted and uneasy.
Putting aside appearances, who can resist the extravagance of buying a boat on a whim?
Adam glanced at Ross, teased him for a moment, and then said slowly, "I never intended to pursue Rachel. It was really just about buying the sailboat. I invited Leonard first."
"Call."
Ross pressed his hand to his chest and let out a long breath. Adam couldn't possibly flirt with someone's daughter in front of her father, could he?
Adam's psychology training hadn't been for nothing; he saw through Ross's thoughts, rolled his eyes, and thought to himself, "Luckily, I'm a decent person, otherwise I would have made you cry a lot..."
His purpose was so obvious: to strike while the iron was hot and further strengthen his relationship with Leonard. He invited Rachel along because she was the most important link and could better promote the warming of their relationship.
Perhaps only Ross, who thinks with his lower body, and Joey, whose mind is filled with food, wouldn't be able to see it.
Well, he was clearly too naive.
upstairs.
The three girls returned to 520 Apartment.
"Monica, Phoebe, can you hear me?"
Looking dazed, Rachel said incredulously, "Adam is asking me out?"
"So?"
Monica said irritably.
"Should I say yes or no?"
Rachel's words were somewhat incoherent.
"You've already agreed to him."
Phoebe reminded him with a smile.
"What?"
Rachel seemed to suddenly realize something and exclaimed, "OMG! I think I really said yes! How could I say yes? He's Playboy! And he still has Caroline!"
"You don't need to worry too much about Caroline."
Monica rolled her eyes at Rachel, who was clearly saying one thing but meaning another, and added sarcastically, "Adam, that Playboy, has too many dates. If you really have feelings for Adam, Juno and Karen, who came last time, are the ones you should be most worried about."
"How could this be? Impossible! I didn't!"
Rachel denied it repeatedly, but couldn't help asking, "What's the deal with Juno and Karen?"
"Adam's female high school classmates, two very outstanding girls."
Phoebe gestured with her hands and said, "Karen has an angelic face and a devilish figure. Even we are smitten. Juno is smart, generous, and a little playful."
"Karen is doing better."
Monica added, "While she's the most attractive, she doesn't hold a strong, lasting appeal for Playboy like Adam. But Juno is a different story..."
Phoebe couldn't help but nod in agreement, "Juno is indeed different."
"How are they different?"
Rachel pressed for an answer.
Monica thought for a moment and organized her thoughts, "She has a certain quality, I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but most importantly, she and Adam are really in sync, as if Adam are kindred spirits."
"Adam and they must have a story."
Phoebe reminded her, "By the way, Juno is from Harvard University, Karen is in Boston, Adam said he'd go to Harvard Medical School after graduation."
Rachel's expression became somewhat unnatural.
"You don't actually have a crush on Adam, do you?"
Monica asked, puzzled, "He's Playboy, even worse than Joey's one-night stand. He never dates. He's fine as a friend, but definitely not a good match for a relationship."
"I know, I know."
Rachel hesitated, "But he'll be a doctor in the future, and most likely Cardiothoracic Surgeon like my dad!"
"..."
"That damn doctor-daddy," Monica rolled her eyes, and added fuel to the fire once again, "You're 22, he's 19, you're three years older than him!"
Whether from her Ross's perspective, Rachel's perspective, or even from a purely female perspective, anyone with a modicum of rationality knows that Playboy like Adam is not suitable as a romantic partner.
She had to keep stabbing Rachel to wake her up.
"I know, I know."
Rachel kept saying the same thing, but her expression clearly showed that she understood the reasoning, but she just wanted to try it.
Just take a quick look, experience it briefly, don't get emotionally involved, it's really not a big deal...
