The World of Geniuses Is Beyond You (Please Vote!)

Cooper's Home.

"Oh, my God!"

After hearing the wonderful notification that his Wisdom had increased by 5, Adam blurted it out.

Little Sheldon had not disappointed him. Juno had provided 1 Wisdom Point, while Little Sheldon had provided 5 at once. With that substantial increase, Adam clearly felt the difference. The whole world seemed more vivid, and some difficult problems that had troubled him before suddenly gave him new understanding and insight.

"Is Adam a believer too?"

Mary asked in surprise.

"No."

Adam smiled awkwardly. "I believe more in science."

"All right."

Mary was somewhat disappointed. As an extremely devout believer, she wished everyone believed in God, but the reality was that more and more people merely used "my God" as an exclamation of surprise.

"That's good. We finally have something in common."

Little Sheldon nodded in agreement.

He was a firm believer in the supremacy of science and did not believe in God at all. He did not even use the usual "oh, my God" when expressing surprise, instead saying "oh, boy"!

"By the way."

Mary finally suppressed the emotion in her heart and asked carefully, "What group activities does your study mutual-aid club have besides studying?"

"We formed a band."

Adam chose his words carefully.

Although future Little Sheldon would be able to play all kinds of instruments and had clearly practiced before, he was still too young right now. Adam and the others played rock, and devout believer Mary might not approve.

"Rock?"

Sure enough, Mary frowned as soon as she heard it.

"Mrs. Cooper, don't worry."

Adam quickly explained, "We play soft rock, not heavy metal. Sheldon can be our keyboardist."

"But Shelly is still too young."

Mary still frowned. "Is that really appropriate? Besides, Shelly has never played an instrument..."

"It's all right. Let Sheldon try first."

Having gained 5 Wisdom Points, Adam was even less willing to give up Sheldon, such a generous source. He said with a placating smile, "If Sheldon doesn't like it, we absolutely won't force him."

"In that case..."

Since Adam had put it that way, Mary could not directly refuse. After all, friends who came looking on their own were simply too rare. Though she was somewhat resistant to the idea of her son playing rock, she could only look hesitantly at Little Sheldon.

"Shelly?"

"Sheldon, many great scientists can play one or two instruments."

Adam hurriedly tempted him in exactly the right way.

He knew Sheldon too well. If Mary had not been there to keep watch, he could have talked Sheldon into anything in minutes—made him cry when told to cry and laugh when told to laugh. That was no joke.

"That's true. Einstein was an excellent violinist, and Planck was a semi-professional pianist."

Little Sheldon's eyes lit up. "A keyboardist? I can give it a try."

He loved science and naturally knew these scientific giants very well. Previously, he had focused only on their scientific achievements, but after Adam's prompting, he was more than willing to emulate their lifestyles.

After all, in the future, just to meet Professor Hawking, he would let Howard order him around and tease him in every possible way. He would even wear an utterly humiliating maid outfit in front of everyone at school. That showed just what price he was willing to pay to draw closer to the scientific giants he admired...

"Better to act than merely be tempted."

Adam was full of initiative. "Why don't we go to my house now? The band's instruments are there, and Sheldon can try them out. Mrs. Cooper?"

"Right now?"

Mary was a little conflicted. She had originally wanted to wait until her husband came home that evening and discuss it with him, but Adam, so ordinary-looking, was simply too enthusiastic. On top of that, her son had clearly been persuaded, and she did not want to dampen his enthusiasm for stepping out of his loneliness.

"All right."

"I want to go too!"

At that moment, a pretty little girl bounced out.

"Missy."

Mary instinctively scolded her, but then she realized that after they left, she could not leave Missy home alone. She could only look at Adam.

"This must be Sheldon's sister, right?"

Adam said with a grin. "Of course you're welcome to come along."

"That's great."

Missy was overjoyed.

Duncan's Home.

"What an adorable little girl."

The moment Mary saw Charlie, she practically melted, making Missy roll her eyes and mutter under her breath, "Am I not adorable too? You never dote on me like that. I really must not be your biological daughter."

"Missy!"

Mary was a little embarrassed and realized that she had paid too little attention to her daughter. But the thought passed in an instant. Her attention had always been focused on Sheldon, and when she saw the Duncan family like this, most of her resistance to Adam and the others playing rock instantly vanished.

Such a loving family was practically a family blessed by God. How could there possibly be any problem with her precious boy spending time with them?

God bless!

Mary and Missy stayed in the living room chatting with Ted, while Adam took Sheldon down to the basement, where Emmett stood with an unhappy expression.

"Sheldon, this is Emmett Williams, the drummer and backing vocalist of our Fruit Hard Candy Band."

Adam introduced them. "Emmett, this is Sheldon Cooper. If nothing unexpected happens, he'll be our keyboardist."

"Hello."

Sheldon stood there ramrod straight and greeted him.

Emmett stood with his arms crossed and snorted. "That's only if nothing unexpected happens."

"Poor kid."

Adam gave him a pitying look and could not be bothered to explain. He led Sheldon to the electronic keyboard, played a simple tune, then stood and gave up the seat. "Sheldon, want to try?"

"Sure."

Sheldon sat down and tilted his head as he thought.

"The electronic keyboard is very simple. Just repeat the movements I made earlier."

Adam reminded him.

"Don't joke around."

Emmett scoffed. "You're asking a kid who has never played an electronic keyboard—or even any instrument—to repeat your movements, and you're calling that simple? Uh..."

Before he could finish, a smooth melody rang out. Little Sheldon was somewhat clumsy at first, but after only a few notes, he was already extremely proficient. The tune was completely accurate.

"Impossible!"

Emmett cried. "This can't be his first time playing!"

"It really is his first time playing."

Juno looked at Little Sheldon, then at Adam, and sighed. "Sheldon really is a genius!"

"Impossible, impossible!"

Emmett shook his head violently, unable to believe it. "How is that possible?"

"The world of geniuses is beyond you."

Adam smiled. "Emmett, imagine if you had absolute pitch and Photographic Memory. Wouldn't that make it easier to understand? Is an electronic keyboard really difficult? It's nothing more than mechanical repetition."

"..."

Emmett stared, dumbfounded and speechless.

In fact, he already believed it in his heart. The tune was beginner-level. If this was not Little Sheldon's first time playing, then he must have encountered that tune before. But Adam was not a dedicated keyboard player, so there had actually been mistakes in his performance. Yet Little Sheldon had repeated it exactly as Adam had played it, including the parts where the melody was wrong.

That left only one truth: Little Sheldon was another genius who got good grades and could play rock, just like Juno.

Looking at Adam and Juno standing side by side on either side of Little Sheldon, Emmett suddenly had an ominous feeling.
