Early the next morning.

When Karen got up and saw Juno leaning against Adam, fast asleep, she glared at Adam fiercely.

Adam shrugged innocently.

They simply kept watch last night, and after talking for most of the night, Juno, lacking Adam's stamina, started to feel sleepy.

Adam urged her to go back to her bedroom and sleep.

She refused.

Adam had no choice but to cover her with a blanket as she drowsily fell asleep, letting her lean against him to sleep.

He didn't sleep all night and has been staying up until now.

The man's previous saintly mindset vanished the moment he saw Juno standing there with a gun.

My heart is filled with only emotion... and a sense of urgency.

And thankfully, after experiencing the incident involving the legally Bloodthirsty Loli in the hospital, he woke up in time, eliminated his ridiculous fear of Juno and Karen, and gained the friendship recognized by the system.

Otherwise, even if Adam didn't avoid Juno and Karen, he wouldn't have taken the initiative to invite them.

Naturally, there would be no further understanding of Juno or the deep emotions she evoked.

This also deeply moved Adam.

In the past, whether it was Little Sheldon., Leonard, Ted and Marshall, or the Friends Six, it seemed that he had built friendships with them and even gained recognition from the system.

But this kind of friendship always feels like it's floating in the air, without any sense of being grounded.

Because Adam was a time traveler, he subconsciously viewed people with a sense of superiority and scrutiny, which prevented him from perfectly integrating into their lives.

Now, he feels he should be more involved.

Because feelings are relative; the more you invest, the more the other person will reciprocate.

This is his life, not some American TV series or novel, no strategy games, just his daily life.

If you treat it like a game, it will eventually give you a hard time.

And at that point, you'll find that you have no chance to save or even start over.

Karen went over, picked up Juno along with the blanket, and carried her back to the bedroom amidst Juno's complaints.

Adam put away the rifle, went to check on Heather was still fast asleep with a smile on her face. He didn't wake her, and turned to leave the bedroom.

After Karen settled Juno in, she started making breakfast.

"I'll help you."

Adam, having experienced his first encounter with Karen, set his sights on her and struck up a conversation.

"Need not."

Karen refused, as always.

"Juno and I were just keeping watch last night, nothing more..."

Adam was not discouraged and said with a smile.

"I know."

Karen glanced at Adam.

Adam's lips twitched; he understood her meaning. She was clearly saying, "If not, why are you still standing here?"

"So, you and Juno, huh?"

Adam suppressed his frustration and persevered.

"What?!"

Karen, in stark contrast to her previous gentle and quiet demeanor when she was with Juno, said sharply, "What you want to know, I already told you at the high school prom. There's nothing more for us to say."

"I know, I know."

Adam smiled wryly and said, "Juno is my good friend, and you are my friend too. I'm rooting for you two, that's all."

Upon hearing this, Karen looked at Adam more closely, nodded, and said, "You're Juno's good buddy, which means you're my friend. I forgive you."

"Forgive me?"

Adam was taken aback.

"Jennifer!"

Karen reminded her.

"Oh oh!"

Adam immediately pictured 'sunset, mountainside, Transformers ' in his mind, and then, thinking of Jennifer and Karen's relationship, he suddenly realized.

No wonder she was so cold to him, even showing some hostility, even though they were friends.

It turns out that Karen had been holding a grudge against Adam all along.

Indeed, only by investing more emotion can one receive a greater response.

"From childhood to adulthood, Juno has not had many friends, you could even be said to be her only friend."

Karen gestured for Adam to come over and help, and while making breakfast, she said softly, "Juno is very relaxed and happy with you, and her happiness makes me happy, so I hope you can always make her happy."

Don't worry.

Adam said solemnly.

Karen nodded, and for the first time, a smile bloomed on her face as she looked at Adam, Adam was slightly stunned by her beauty.

"Isn't Heather enough for you?"

Karen's smile faded, her tone turning cold and bitter. "Juno said her figure is better than mine, you should know that best!"

"Hehe."

Adam chuckled dryly, "It's different, it's different."

Karen gave Adam a disdainful look.

What's the difference?

One was measured by hand, while the other could only be viewed?

"So, Juno and I both plan to become doctors in the future."

Adam quickly changed the subject. "Karen, what are your plans?"

"My first choice is to become a chef."

Karen thought for a moment and said, "My second choice is to be a nurse."

"Why not Weather Forecaster?"

Adam blurted out, "You're incredibly talented!"

"You want me to stand on TV and tell everyone what I really think?"

Karen sneered.

"No."

Adam quickly denied it. "You can prepare at home in advance and just tell the audience the result."

"Not interested."

Karen shook her head and said, "I'm not short of money, and being a chef won't be a full-time job. I just want to cook delicious food for Juno and have time to take care of her. Being a nurse would help Juno and be her assistant in her career."

"..."

Adam was speechless for a long time before sighing, "You're so good to Juno; she's all you think about."

"Isn't this normal?"

Karen looked at Adam with a puzzled expression.

Adam lowered his head in shame.

This made him even more certain of the definition Jennifer had given Karen: Karen was crazy!

Only madmen and geniuses can be so focused; once they decide to do something, they will devote themselves to it wholeheartedly.

For example, Sheldon was obsessed with science and had little interest in taking a vacation. As a result, he accumulated so many vacation days that the school eventually had to enforce the rule that he could not enter the school.

Penny felt that her acting career was not going well because she was still working part-time as a waitress, which made her less focused. Without discussing it with Leonard, she quit her job.

Leonard verbally expressed his support, but whenever he had the chance, he would complain that she shouldn't have been wasting her savings without working before she was sure of success.

These are indeed the words of an old man, spoken with sincerity and seriousness.

However, Sheldon genuinely agreed with and supported Penny's actions.

Because that's how he chose Theoretical Physics in the first place—leaving no way out for himself, focusing more intently, and that's how he's achieved greater success. He's always done just that.

Karen is clearly not a genius, otherwise the system would have given a warning.

So, someone so focused on Juno must be crazy.

But why did Adam's strongest feeling about being stared at by such a madman not be fear for Juno, but rather a little envy for Juno...?
