Almost Exposed
520 Apartment.
The group chatted for a while longer.
Richard got up and left.
He was too old and somewhat alienated from others, so Chandler and the others were not very willing to take him out. Therefore, he usually went on dates with Monica alone.
Monica stared at his retreating figure, a blissful smile on her face.
"The person is gone, but the soul can return."
Chandler joked, "Is it really necessary?"
"How dare you say that to me?"
Monica retorted, "Who said he was just playing around with Aurora? And who was it that personally brought her breakfast every morning and complained sourly about her leaving? Who was that lovestruck guy?"
"Chandler!"
Rachel laughed loudly.
"OK, OK."
Chandler raised his hand and said, "Aurora was just an accident. Didn't you see me break up with her decisively?"
"Decisive?"
Monica exclaimed, "My God, you stabbed her in the neck with a fork!"
"But it saved her life."
Adam cautioned, "Without Chandler, she probably wouldn't even know she has a heart condition..."
"Thank you, thank you."
Chandler thanked them repeatedly and looked around at everyone with a smug expression.
"... If Chandler hadn't risked his life by being bitten like that, who knows what she would have bitten."
Adam changed the subject, teasingly adding, "Besides, who else could react as quickly as Chandler, using the fork so skillfully and precisely to make her let go?"
"Hahaha."
Everyone burst into laughter.
Chandler gave Adam a helpless glare.
"Oh, oh, and that time too!"
Joey added, "If Aurora hadn't given Chandler a phobia of public appearances, his elementary school classmate would have succeeded long ago."
"It would be better to let her succeed."
Monica and the other girls looked at Chandler with disdain. "He pulled down another girl's pants in public, and you don't even allow her to retaliate?"
"That was in elementary school, decades ago!"
Chandler exclaimed, "And I didn't do it on purpose."
"But you still pulled down his pants."
Adam laughed and said, "The fact that this little girl still remembers it to this day, and that she would even seduce you to get revenge on you, shows how much she cares about what happened back then. If you ask me, you should have just gone along with her and let her vent her anger."
"I apologized."
Chandler said speechlessly, "Does she really want me to be tricked into going to the bathroom, take off all my clothes, and then have her take them away, leaving me completely naked, before she'll feel better?"
Why not?
Adam joked, "This is nowhere near as good as what you did back then. What good is it if she succeeds?"
"That is."
Monica and her two daughters all chimed in.
Ross and Joey nodded in agreement, looking ashamed to be associated with him.
"Should I call her right now and tell her I'll let her punish me?"
Chandler said self-deprecatingly.
"Real?"
Joey's eyes lit up, and she exclaimed in surprise, "I still have her business card. I'll make the call for you."
With that, he jumped up from the sofa and ran to the apartment across the street to find his business card.
Don't be surprised!
Chandler, a former elementary school classmate, is a makeup artist on a film and television crew and knows many people in the industry. Joey doesn't want to miss any opportunity.
"Fortunately, it wasn't a battlefield, otherwise I definitely wouldn't have died at the hands of the enemy, but would have been mistakenly killed by friendly forces."
Chandler scoffed.
"Don't think like that. A sincere apology is what you should do. You've left her with psychological trauma for over twenty years. You should be the one who understands this kind of psychological trauma the most."
Adam reminded him, "Put yourself in someone else's shoes. If you had the chance to overcome your past traumas, what would you do?"
Chandler paused for a moment, then murmured, "I'm willing to pay any price."
His parents' messy affairs almost ruined his life.
In the original timeline, he fell in love repeatedly, but each time he took a step back before getting any closer, because he dared not be too intimate, for fear of repeating the mistakes of his parents.
So much so that later on, when he and Monica were about to get married, he wanted to deliberately say that he didn't want to get married at all before proposing to Monica as a surprise.
As it turned out, Monica, who knew his past, took it seriously and, heartbroken, went to Richard, almost cheating on Chandler. Fortunately, Monica pulled back from the brink, otherwise a beautiful relationship would have been ruined.
Chandler might actually die alone, just like the neurotic old man downstairs, whom he once feared so much.
"This is it."
Adam advised, "What she did wasn't excessive. She just wanted you to embarrass yourself and experience the awkwardness and shame she felt back then. You're all grown up now, so what if you embarrass yourself a little? You'll move on in no time."
Monica and the other two girls glanced at each other, noticing the strange look in each other's eyes, and then all glanced at Chandler's lower body.
"What's wrong?"
Adam keenly sensed that something was wrong with them.
"Nothing."
"Go on."
Monica and the other two girls suppressed their laughter and quickly looked away.
"We've all met your elementary school classmate. Tell me the truth, isn't she hot? Maybe even as hot as a typical female celebrity?"
Adam laughed and said, "Maybe after you two put aside your differences, you can even have a romantic trip together."
"Yes, I told you before that she looks like Julia Roberts."
"Vivian from Pretty Woman ~"
The crowd was buzzing with discussion.
"Should I really do this?"
Chandler was persuaded, mainly because Adam made him put himself in the other person's shoes, though it's also possible that he was genuinely amazed by the female classmate's appearance and demeanor.
"Certainly!"
Everyone said in unison.
"OK!"
Chandler jumped up, twisting his body and clapping his hands, saying, "I'm making a call right now. I'm going to resolve this. I shouldn't be a shadow over her!"
"Come on!"
The crowd cheered.
Joey still hadn't returned, and Chandler, unable to wait any longer, ran back to find the phone number himself.
"What's wrong now?"
Seeing Monica and the other two women scrutinizing him, Adam remained silent.
"Something's wrong with you."
"Something's wrong with you."
"You seem to be exceptionally nice to Chandler."
Monica and the other two girls suddenly said something that made Adam's heart race.
"Is there?"
Fortunately, Adam had already mastered the art of acting as a drama queen as soon as he transmigrated, and remained calm and innocent.
"Of course!"
Monica exclaimed, "Every time Chandler is in trouble, you are always so patient in guiding and helping him."
"Yes, if it were Ross, you would either tease or mock him."
Rachel chimed in, "Don't make the difference in attitude too obvious."
Ross also looked over with a suspicious expression.
"What do I think it is?"
Adam laughed and said, "Are Chandler and Ross's experiences and personalities the same? Monica, you should know this best. In your own words, Ross has been a prince since he was a child, and you really want to switch parents with him."
Seeing Monica nod, Adam continued, "The psychological trauma you've suffered since childhood is already quite significant, but it's still not as bad as Chandler's. Under these circumstances, isn't it normal for me to be more patient with Chandler? Think about it carefully, haven't I been very patient with you too?"
"So I should just be ridiculed and mocked?"
Ross said with dissatisfaction.
"Should!"
This time, before Adam could even speak, Monica exclaimed, "Adam did the right thing! What's wrong with teasing and mocking you a bit? A prince like you, who's grown up with everything going smoothly, do you really expect extra attention? You're too greedy!"
"Adam had thought this through so deeply."
Phoebe exclaimed, "Adam is amazing!"
"Hehe."
Adam smiled reservedly, but secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
That was close!
We almost got exposed.
