Surprise
Las Vegas.
Caesars Palace.
Still laughing?
After giving up, Joey walked away dejectedly. Suddenly, she caught a glimpse of Adam out of the corner of her eye and saw him trying his best to suppress a laugh. Joey felt a little embarrassed and annoyed.
"Hahaha."
Adam could no longer contain himself and burst into laughter.
"What's so funny?"
Joey glared at him.
"Isn't it funny? You're actually considering making a short film! Hahaha."
Adam was overjoyed.
"So what? That's dedication to art!"
Joey tried his best to glorify himself.
"Yes, yes, yes!"
Adam nodded solemnly. "Art is supreme, and it is glorious to dedicate oneself to art, because you are indeed naked."
You are not allowed to tell anyone about this!
Joey threatened.
"That's impossible!"
Adam refused without hesitation, declaring righteously, "We can't be so selfish! Such a funny joke must be shared with our good friends!"
"..."
Joey suddenly stopped talking and just kept walking forward with her head down.
Where are you going now?
Adam quickly caught up and asked with a smile.
"Resign!"
Joey glared at Adam: "Since you're willing to lend me money, there's no point in being this ancient Roman warrior anymore. I'm going to focus all my energy on becoming the male lead in a movie and making a name for myself!"
You can do it.
Adam patted Joey's armor. "I fully support you!"
Joey's expression softened, and he pointed at Adam: "Come watch my performance tonight!"
What kind of performance?
Adam asked curiously.
"We'll find out when the time comes."
Joey walked away quickly, then turned back after a few steps and reminded her, "Don't bring your family. Juno and the others can come along. Wait for my call. That's all!"
New York.
520 Apartment.
Chandler and the big-mouthed beauty Susie sat on the sofa, looking somewhat depressed.
"Are you still bothered about apologizing to Joey?"
"Monica asked."
"Um."
Chandler frowned and said, "I've tried calling him to apologize for several days in a row, but he won't listen to my explanations at all."
How do you intend to explain this?
Ross retorted, "You're not telling the truth?"
"No, no!"
Chandler glanced at the gloating Ross and said sarcastically, "Next time I call, as soon as he answers, I'll immediately say that Ross agrees with me and that what I said is true! I believe he'll accept that explanation!"
"No!"
Ross rolled his eyes and said with a forced smile, "I was just joking, don't tell Joey this!"
What happened?
Susie, who had just returned from filming today, asked, puzzled.
Chandler explained the situation.
"Oh! I've heard about that!"
Susie suddenly realized and laughed, "Chandler, you did the right thing. That director and that crew have disbanded and will never film again. You can call Joey back now."
"They've disbanded?"
The crowd shouted in unison.
"Yes."
Susie thought for a moment and said, "If I remember correctly, I heard a few days ago that this production crew disbanded because they didn't have enough money. There are too many production crews like this every year."
She is a makeup artist on set and often works with the crew, so she is very well-informed about industry news.
"But I spoke with Joey on the phone yesterday."
Phoebe asked doubtfully, "He said everything went smoothly?"
"The movie is called 'Shutter Speed,' and it was filmed in Las Vegas?"
Susie confirmed.
"Right!"
Chandler nodded.
"Then that's it."
Susie said with certainty, "This production crew disbanded a few days ago. Yes, I heard the news on Monday."
"Monday?"
Chandler murmured, "That's about the time Joey will arrive."
"Perhaps they've found the funding again and started filming again?"
Monica guessed.
"Impossible."
Susie shook her head. "If filming resumes, we will all be informed."
"I think I know what happened."
Ross looked enlightened. "Joey must be too embarrassed to say it or come back right away, so he stayed there and pretended that he was still filming."
"That must be it!"
Chandler blamed himself, saying, "It's all my fault! If I hadn't distrusted him and made him angry, he wouldn't have stayed there in a huff and would have come back long ago."
At this point, he stood up abruptly. "I'll call him right now, and if that doesn't work, I'll go to Las Vegas to pick him up."
Ring ring!
Just then, the phone rang.
"It must be Joey."
Chandler rushed over and picked up the phone. "Joey!"
"You miss him that much?"
Adam's laughter came from the other end of the phone.
"Adam?"
Chandler looked disappointed.
"I know Joey is your best buddy, but I'm your friend too. Is there really such a big difference?"
Adam joked.
"No."
Chandler said embarrassedly, "You don't know what happened."
"Hmm, let me guess."
Adam said in a serious tone, "You're waiting for Joey's call so eagerly, did you do something to offend him? And he's not home, is he out?"
The only thing that could get him to go out is filming movies, but he's so happy about filming that he's unlikely to get angry, unless you don't approve of his filmmaking abilities.
"OMG!"
Chandler was shocked. "Are all psychology students this amazing?"
"Of course... I was just kidding!"
Adam laughed and said, "I'm in Las Vegas right now. I just ran into Joey and heard what he said."
"..."
Chandler retorted, "Adam, I'm not in the mood for jokes right now. How's Joey? I heard from Susie that their movie crew disbanded a long time ago."
"Um."
Adam joked, "It's not a complete disbandment. At least the director told Joey to wait here and start filming as soon as he raises the money."
"Absolutely impossible."
Chandler said urgently, "Susie's information network is very good. That movie crew really did disband. I can't even imagine how much of a blow Joey will suffer..."
"Come and see for yourself."
Adam laughed and said, "You'll have to comfort him yourself when the time comes."
"Okay, I'll be right there."
Chandler readily agreed.
Don't go alone.
Adam laughed and said, "Call Susie, Monica and the others over to come and have fun. I'll cover the accommodations, a deluxe suite, you know."
"Real?"
After receiving a positive reply, Chandler held up the phone and told everyone about Adam's invitation.
"Wow!"
"A luxury suite? I'll go too!"
Everyone responded enthusiastically.
"You'd better come quickly."
Adam cautioned, "It seems Joey is going to perform something tonight, and it might be R-rated."
"R-rated performances? Las Vegas!"
Chandler's heart skipped a beat, a sense of foreboding washing over him, and he couldn't help but shout out his ex-girlfriend Janice's classic line in that tone, "OMG!"
