Chicken Dinner Legend
Las Vegas.
Caesars Palace.
"Three sides, three sides, top, top!"
This is a classic bidding sound.
We won!
Adam lifted the lid and saw that the player behind him had indeed won.
However, this scene seemed somewhat familiar to him, as if he had seen it somewhere before.
So he looked up and looked back.
A hint of surprise flashed in his eyes.
But then he saw a beautiful woman standing behind him, wearing a tight-fitting blazer and a red mini-skirt, looking exceptionally stunning.
Adam has been through several years and thousands of days and nights in the past, so he has seen a lot and is quite knowledgeable. He is already able to remain calm and composed, so he will not lose his composure just because she is beautiful and dressed up.
The reason he looked surprised was because he recognized the face.
How did she end up here?
Adam's mind raced, but he remained outwardly calm. When the dealer pushed the winning chips over, he casually took a hundred-dollar chip and handed it to the dealer.
The beautiful woman took it without hesitation, her movements practiced, and smiled without saying a word.
Adam understood.
She must be the casino's female public relations officer, or, to use a more fashionable term from my previous life in college, a female gambling partner.
Accompanying guests to gamble and earning tips.
For the guests, gambling alone is nothing compared to having a beautiful woman by their side, making noise for them, having intimate contact from time to time, and perhaps even more exciting and enjoyable activities afterward.
For casinos, the presence of female gambling companions greatly increases a customer's gambling instincts; someone who used to only bet 10,000 might now bet 100,000.
The bigger the bet, the greater the casino's profits.
After all, nine out of ten gamblers lose.
As for having a female gambling partner and then being Goddess of Fortune, winning big and winning big?
It's okay, actually.
Even if the odds are extremely low, and she does win big, her female gambling partner will first receive a large amount of tips, which will motivate her to continue.
It's important to understand that being a female gambling partner isn't something anyone can do. Beauty is just a basic requirement; familiarity with the game, understanding the gambler's psychology, knowing how to motivate them, and how to soothe their emotions after they lose money all require skill.
Then, if this time the gambler is incredibly lucky and wins big, will the female gambling partner, for her own benefit, encourage the gambler to continue gambling?
That's for sure.
As long as you continue gambling, losing money is inevitable.
Are there any particularly rational people who stop after winning big money?
Of course, there are.
But it's okay if you don't gamble.
Casinos have all sorts of high-end venues, and gamblers who win big money are accompanied by beautiful female gambling partners. How could they not make impulsive spending?
Casinos can still make a profit if they make impulsive purchases.
Even if he can tolerate all of this, it doesn't matter.
Because this is also a good form of publicity.
Someone has to become rich overnight to attract more people to the casino.
In short, whether you win or not, the casino never loses.
Adam played for a while longer, with the beautiful PR woman still standing behind him, cheering Adam on whenever Adam looked at his cards.
I have to say, I was incredibly lucky today. In no time, I doubled my $10,000 chips, not even counting the small tips I gave out.
That's over a thousand dollars.
Of course, luck is only temporary.
Adam, seeing that he had won, got up and left the gambling table.
The beautiful PR woman continued to follow Adam.
"Shall we get to know each other?"
Adam smiled and extended his hand, "My name is Adam."
"My name is Nicole."
The beautiful woman smiled and shook hands with Adam.
"Real name?"
Adam was astonished.
He was surprised that she said her real name as soon as she opened her mouth. Then he realized that this might not be her real name, after all, this was a world mixed with American TV series and movies.
Alice.
The beautiful PR woman glanced at Adam, then smiled and said another name.
Adam and she exchanged a glance and realized that this must be her real name.
Do you know Tom Cruise?
Adam looked at that familiar face and couldn't help but ask.
"I don't know him."
Alice shook her head.
"And what about William Haver?"
Adam pressed for an answer.
"I have absolutely no recollection of it."
Alice laughed and said, "Are these all your friends? Do you mean I look a lot like their ex-girlfriend?"
"Hehe."
Adam smiled noncommittally.
Just because we don't know each other now doesn't mean we won't know each other in the future.
Adam couldn't help but glance at her again. She should only be in her early twenties now, so it's normal that he didn't recognize her.
"Are you working part-time here?"
"Um."
Alice laughed and said, "When I was a child, my father took me away from Hawaii and brought me to Las Vegas, and I've lived here ever since."
I started working here part-time when I was in junior high school, and continued until I went to university and left. However, I still come back every holiday to work part-time to earn tuition fees, because tuition is just too expensive.
"Um."
Adam nodded in understanding.
"You think so too?"
Alice joked, "The tuition is expensive for us, but for you, even if it were several times more expensive, it would just be a matter of buying one less car, right?"
Even the landlords don't have surplus grain.
Adam laughed it off.
"Want to play again?"
Alice's eyes sparkled.
Do you have any recommendations?
Adam smiled and glanced at her.
Blackjack.
Alice said generously, "This is what I'm best at, and maybe I can help you in a little way."
"Are you good at blackjack?"
Adam exclaimed in surprise.
"Looks like you've heard of the Chicken Dinner Legend too."
Alice smiled and said, "I'm good at math."
"What Chicken Dinner Legend?"
Adam asked curiously.
"You do not know?"
Alice was surprised. "A while ago, a group of MIT students came to Las Vegas to play blackjack and won a lot of money. Later, they were discovered by the casino's inspectors, expelled, and put on the blacklist of all casinos."
Adam vaguely remembered this; it seemed to be the plot of a movie he had seen in his previous life. He couldn't help but laugh and said, "Since casinos don't allow card counting, why are you doing it?"
"They are different."
Alice laughed and said, "They're playing cards as a team, and they've even invented a unique and secretive language of gestures for it. It's very efficient, so their winning rate is naturally higher."
Casinos have now tightened their oversight of group card counting.
As for me, my skill level is inferior to theirs, and I'm alone. Even if I count cards, it only slightly improves my winning percentage, which has little impact.
There was one more thing she didn't say: she worked for the casino, and as long as her methods of attracting customers through merit weren't excessive, the casino wouldn't interfere.
Even if a customer wins a lot in the beginning and earns enough tips later, she can still make them lose everything in one go if she subtly shifts her position.
"What if you encounter someone who can calculate cards on their own as well as a group of people calculating cards together?"
Adam asked curiously.
"Impossible."
Alice shook her head and said, "An individual can never compare to a team committing a crime."
"Hehe."
Adam couldn't help but laugh.
He couldn't help but think of Sheldon.
If we bring Sheldon along, with his superb mathematical calculation ability and High-Definition Photographic Memory, could he lead a team all by himself?
