Who Do You Think We Are?
"You dare not?"
Faced with Amazing Amy's confidence, Juno and Heather exchanged a glance and smiled at each other.
"Karen."
Juno called out.
"Knew."
Karen understood and stepped forward to raise the head of the bed where Amazing Amy was, so that Amazing Amy could see the whole room.
Amazing Amy's eyes narrowed as she saw an operating table with a large deer on it.
Heather.
Juno nodded to Heather.
"Buzz buzz buzz!"
Heather nodded, pulled the small chainsaw, and started it up. She smiled brightly at Amazing Amy, raised the chainsaw, and sawed off one of the deer's legs.
"Ah!!!"
Faced with such a bloody scene, Amazing Amy cried out in alarm, "You're scaring me! You're scaring me! I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid!"
Buzz buzz buzz!
Her response was the sound of a chainsaw.
It must be said that the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series has remained a classic horror film series for so long, and it has its own unique appeal.
United States are not at all interested in the atmosphere of terror in the East; on the contrary, they particularly love this kind of blatant blood and gore. It is inevitable that they will scream when they see these.
Heather planned to keep her Leatherface cousin locked in the underground wine cellar for life, preventing him from coming out to kill again, but Leatherface had an extreme bloodlust in addition to eating and sleeping.
To quell her Leatherface cousin's restlessness, Heather would buy or hunt animals every few days to Leatherface vent his frustration.
In addition, she grew up in a slaughterhouse, and over time, she became quite skilled at dismembering animals with a chainsaw.
Now, as she demonstrates her special skill, Amazing Amy initially just screams and can still hold on, but as it becomes increasingly bloody, she breaks down.
"You can't kill me! If I die, Adam is finished!!!"
Juno reached out, Heather immediately stopped the chainsaw.
"What's the meaning?"
"You can't kill me! If I die, Adam is finished!!!"
Amazing Amy continued to scream the same phrase over and over again, even after Heather stopped, she didn't stop immediately, screaming it four or five times in a row.
Then she realized that Juno and the others were all watching her.
"You wouldn't dare kill me!"
Amazing Amy, having narrowly escaped death, exclaimed with delight, "If I had died, Adam would have been finished too! I still have crucial evidence! The police will definitely come after Adam, and then they'll find you all along! I'm a celebrity! Public opinion will force them to work even harder to solve the case! You wouldn't dare kill me! Hahaha!"
After Juno waited for her to vent and regain her confidence, she spoke slowly.
"October 24, 1995, Boston. There's a writers' social party tonight. When I got there, I unexpectedly ran into my ex-boyfriend from high school."
Although he's a completely different person now, successful in his career, just like when I initiated the breakup, if the feelings are gone, then the feelings are gone. But clearly, he doesn't think that way...
"No!!!"
Upon hearing this, Amazing Amy turned pale and screamed in despair.
Who do you think we are?
Juno picked up a diary from the table, walked over to Amazing Amy, patted the diary, and sighed, "A psychopathic killer? Why did we go to all this trouble to kidnap you for no reason?"
No! We are acting on behalf of Heaven, we are on the side of justice! You are the evil villain! We have crucial evidence!
"No!!!"
Amazing Amy screamed again, this time with utter despair...
New York.
Morning run time.
"Adam, you're really something!"
After Monica finished her walk, she exclaimed, "If you hadn't come along, Phoebe probably would have been pregnant with quintuplets."
"That's right."
Chandler chimed in, "Does Adam need any introduction on his persuasiveness? Just look at how many female friends he has. I bet Adam had a fling with a pretty female teacher back in high school, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to get Little Frank's teacher's wife to agree so easily. Clearly, he's experienced!"
"Yes or no?"
Upon hearing this, Monica's gossip spirit was instantly ignited.
"Hehe."
Adam smiled noncommittally, "Actually, I'm not that great. When it comes to persuasion, Juno is the real expert. She's exceptionally talented and can see through people's hearts. When she plays psychological games, no one can resist her. If she had gone yesterday, it would have been much faster and more effective."
"Really?"
Monica exclaimed in disbelief, "Juno looks completely different from Roger!"
Roger, Phoebe's ex-boyfriend, a psychiatrist, is someone everyone despises.
Every time they met, he would analyze everyone's psychology in various ways. Unfortunately, he was a professional and his guesses were very accurate. He would often reveal subconscious thoughts that no one had thought of, leaving everyone dumbfounded and then angry.
While not quite on par with Beverly, she's not far off.
"Think about it carefully."
Adam nodded at his temple.
"I see!"
Chandler exclaimed, "It's precisely because we can't see it that Juno is so incredibly capable."
Look at Roger, he's a psychiatrist himself, doesn't he know how annoying he is?
Of course he knew that, but he couldn't control himself, which shows that self-control is the hardest thing!
Juno's self-control was so remarkable that none of us realized she was just an ordinary girl next door. We never imagined she was even more capable Roger —that's what's so terrifying.
"Ha?"
Monica was stunned and somewhat incredulous, yet she also felt that Chandler's words made a lot of sense, and she was speechless.
"Let's not talk about this anymore."
Adam chuckled, "Monica, how's your funeral catering contractor doing?"
"Oh, that's fantastic!"
Monica perked up at the mention of this. "I got another big order yesterday for 60 people. This one is from a friend of the deceased from last time. Word of mouth has spread, he's my friend!"
"Congratulations."
Adam rejoiced.
She had already quit her job as a cosplay Big Bear chef at MAX Diner; she really disliked that kind of slightly humiliating pretense.
Now, she has started taking on funeral banquets, working as an independent banquet chef.
This wasn't something that came to mind on a whim.
In fact, she had done odd jobs here and there over the past three years, but she never thought of becoming a professional banquet chef.
Working as a restaurant chef is a stable job with little pressure, and you can even slack off from time to time.
While contracting out banquet chefs and becoming your own boss can earn you more, it also brings greater pressure, instability, and a lot of things to consider, making the work extremely tiring.
Both have their advantages and disadvantages.
"Thank you so much!"
Monica sincerely thanked her, "If you hadn't lent me $500 to buy materials and encouraged me to try, I really wouldn't have dared to take on such a big business."
Banquets vary in size. She had only ever hosted banquets for a dozen or so people, with a maximum of twenty or so. For banquets with more than 60 people, the initial costs alone were not a small amount.
Since she's unemployed and doesn't have Adam, she'll most likely turn down the offer.
