Toilet Hero
There are two months left until Adam graduates.
Chandler's wedding is four weeks away.
Everything is progressing smoothly.
A determined prodigal son is also pushing forward with his plans.
New York.
MacLaren's Pub.
"Joey Tribiani? That name sounds familiar."
Ted took a sip of beer and tilted his head to think.
"You've forgotten, he was Adam's friend."
He reminded Lily, who was on the other side.
"We even had a meal together during our freshman year."
Sitting next to Lily, Marshall seemed to be inseparable from her, took a big gulp of beer and added.
"Oh, I remember now."
Ted slapped his forehead. "That time Adam made a lot of money writing a book and treated all his friends to a meal. There was a handsome actor among them who could eat a lot. Was it him?"
"That's him!"
Sitting next to Ted was Barney Stinson, always impeccably dressed in a suit. He twirled his wine glass, his eyes narrowing slightly. "A good-for-nothing!"
"Oh dear, it seems someone really dislikes him."
Lily plays with flavors.
Did he steal your thunder?
Ted hit the nail on the head.
"He can steal my thunder?"
Barney scoffed, "Nobody can steal my thunder!"
"That's hard to say."
Lily joked, "I know someone who, when standing next to you, no matter how many magic tricks or tricks you know, will be irrelevant; all the women's eyes will be on him."
"How could that be?"
Barney's eyes were filled with disdain, but he still pressed on, "Who is it?"
"Adam Duncan".
Lily, Marshall, Ted exclaimed in unison.
The three of them were naturally Adam's classmates at Columbia University, and had lived in the dorm room next to Adam's.
More than six years have passed.
Ted graduated and became an architect.
Lily works as a kindergarten teacher.
Marshall, after graduating, continued his studies and is now a freshman at Columbia Law School.
Like medical school, law school does not offer undergraduate programs; applicants must hold a bachelor's degree and the acceptance rate is low.
Columbia Law School is one of the world's top law schools, Marshall's ability to get in is a testament to his talent and hard work.
Just as medical students bury themselves in voluminous books, law students must also read, understand, and memorize complex legal provisions from a vast collection of legal texts.
Given their similarities, it's no wonder that these are two typical middle-class professions in the United States.
Now, Marshall and Ted share an apartment above the MacLaren's Pub. Lily practically lives with Marshall, although she has her own apartment, but she often doesn't go back for months at a time, only using it as a fallback and a place to store her things.
The three of them hung out together every day, just like Chandler, Monica, and Ross used to be.
Marshall and Lily started dating right after they entered college. Marshall's earlier statement that "it was just a fling with Lily" has become a joke. More than six years have passed, and the two are still inseparable, having become complete shareholders, and wholly-owned shareholders at that.
Ted, on the other hand, went from being a cute puppy to Big Bad Wolf wolf in disguise, changing girlfriends one after another and hurting countless good girls in the process.
Six months ago, Barney, who was living a carefree life, met Ted in the restroom of the MacLaren's Pub. The two were urinating side by side, and as they were urinating, Barney suddenly started talking.
"Tonight is the first time I've brought my deaf brother out since my mother passed away."
"Oh, I'm sorry."
Ted was stunned for a moment, then quickly apologized.
"It doesn't matter."
Barney leaned against the wall with one hand and held a gun in the other, saying with deep emotion, "Now only I can take care of him. Although I have to give up my dream to do this, I am very happy. He is my brother, and I love him!"
"..."
Ted was even more confused, but seeing how heartfelt the other person was, he could only apologize again. "Dude, uh, I'm sorry."
As he spoke, he packed up and prepared to leave.
He came in to pee and encountered this bizarre and strange thing. He didn't even know the other person. Besides, is it really okay to reveal your feelings in this position in the toilet?
"Wow, you believe that?"
At that moment, Barney suddenly laughed.
"What?"
Ted was stunned again.
"I made up that story while I was peeing. If you believe it, then the blonde girl over there at the bar will definitely believe it too."
As Barney washed his hands, he said smugly, "Unless you're a complete idiot. What's your name?"
"Ted".
"Ted, are you a big idiot?"
"I'm still talking to you, so?"
Ted finally realized what was happening and retorted.
"Good for you, I'm starting to admire you."
Barney washed his hands and left.
Fifteen minutes later.
"Ted, I'm going to teach you how to live."
Barney approached Ted, put his arm around Ted, and said the following words.
It is said that birds of a feather flock together, and the reason why Ted was chosen by Barney is undoubtedly because he has a romantic temperament. Romance and a playboy are only one word apart, and they are closely intertwined.
Most playboys are romantic, otherwise how could they be so carefree?
Barney, having roamed the world for so long, saw through Ted's true nature at a glance and took him as a wingman, which is actually quite normal.
This encounter in the restroom became a legend in Barney's eyes.
Then many stories begin in the toilet, and some people even become Toilet Hero...
The host found a wingman, Barney successfully infiltrated the trio's circle, just as Joey had inadvertently become Chandler's roommate and joined the Friends Group of Six.
These days, it's common for the four of them to hang out together at the MacLaren's Pub.
Barney had naturally heard Lily and the others mention Adam's name before.
But this was the first time he had heard about Adam and Joey's relationship.
Barney gritted his teeth. Hearing Lily and the others praise Adam, and recalling the super handsome guy he had met before who knew Joey, the two images immediately overlapped.
"Adam Duncan!"
Barney described Adam's characteristics.
"Yes, you ran into him?"
Lily's eyes lit up.
Despite her unwavering love for Marshall, she could never shake her infatuated nature until her death.
Not to mention Adam, even her future best friend Robin, she often fantasizes about him, and she often gives him a bewitching look.
Although Adam was an alumnus of the three of them and had lived next door to them, Adam hardly ever lived in the dormitory. He moved out quickly and then spent most of his time with his Friends Group of Six, so his interactions with them naturally decreased.
Then, Adam graduated a year early, got into medical school, and became even busier.
After that, they graduated and lost touch even more.
But as a renowned alumnus and a super handsome friend, Lily often mentions Adam.
Marshall and Ted were very close to Adam and were proud to have such an excellent friend, so Adam was always present in the background of their conversations and never disappeared.
