Savor It, Think It Through!
Medical Center.
"Look!"
Adam nudged Bianca and pointed to Cristina looked energetic at the nurses' station.
"They're really working that hard!"
Bianca was exhausted.
Luckily, she was staying at Adam's apartment, which was right next to the hospital. Otherwise, considering the time spent on the road, she would probably have had to get up at three o'clock to get there before others.
You should know that, although she theoretically could go to bed early, even though she works from 5 am to 7 pm.
But in reality, I always end my shift late every night.
Besides, you can go back and sleep right away?
Stop joking.
Thinking about this, Bianca glanced up at Adam, mentally calculating whether to continue mooching off Adam to save commuting time, or simply move out and save even more sleep...
"You don't understand. I'm a man and you're a woman. You can't walk around in front of me wearing Hello Kitty while I'm taking a shower."
The effeminate, chubby George's complaints came from outside the hospital.
"Oh, speaking of which, remember to buy us sanitary pads!"
Liz's indifferent voice came through.
"I'm a man! I don't buy women's products!"
George is on the verge of a breakdown.
"Adam! Say something for me!"
George exclaimed when he saw Adam and Bianca.
"Ooh ooh ooh!"
Adam reached out to stop him, saying, "What does it matter to me whether you're a man or not? Why should I speak up for you?"
"Hahaha!"
Meredith and Liz laughed and walked away.
"..."
George looked at Adam with a mournful expression.
Don't look at me like that.
Adam shrugged. "Who told you to live with them? Do you really think you can't find anywhere else to live after moving out of your house? Bianca, what's that saying again?"
"You just lust after their bodies, you're despicable!"
Bianca's coordinated stabbing.
She had heard Adam mention this phrase more than once. As a close friend who knew her inside and out, she naturally knew what to do from just a glance or a word from Adam.
"I don't!"
George denied it, saying, "Meredith's house is very nice, and since we're all colleagues, it's convenient for us to live together, so I moved in."
"Then you can move out now."
Adam joked, "Otherwise, if Liz were to wear Hello Kitty and parade around in front of you again, could you handle it? Don't say anything yet! Let me analyze it for you. If you say you could handle it, then you're not a man!"
"And if you can't stand it, then why don't you move out? Isn't it just because you're lusting after certain people's bodies? You have the desire but not the courage, Bianca, what's that saying again?"
"You choose between the Qin Beast and something inferior to the Qin Beast!"
Bianca understood immediately and cooperated as a matter of habit.
"..."
George was on the verge of tears, left after saying just one sentence.
"You are not good people!"
Who does he like?
Bianca asked curiously.
What do you think?
Adam didn't answer; instead, he asked a question.
"Liz is prettier, but George, seeing her vulnerable side, didn't secretly rejoice; instead, he vehemently opposed it..."
Bianca pondered, "That must be Meredith!"
"Correct."
As Adam and she walked toward the changing room, Adam laughed and said, "Then guess again, does Meredith know that George has a crush on her?"
"Of course I know."
Bianca said, "It's such a simple logic. Even a novice just experiencing love could figure it out with a woman's natural intuition. Meredith is clearly a master of love, so how could she not know?"
"Bingo!"
Adam snapped his fingers.
"Is she pretending not to know?"
Bianca suddenly realized.
Adam smiled without saying a word.
Changing room.
Cristina leaned against the wall, muttering something to herself, which Adam, with his sharp ears, heard clearly.
"55-year-old female, diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, has undergone chemotherapy, which has controlled the spread of cancer cells. She has an abdominal pain index of 3 (maximum 10), feels nauseous but not vomiting, has diarrhea, bloody stools, and black stools. Her highest temperature was 37.2 degrees Celsius, but she has no fever. Her vital signs are stable. Laboratory tests show a bilirubin level of 7 and elevated liver enzymes..."
Congratulations!
Adam smiled at Cristina.
"What are you congratulating me on?"
Cristina stopped reciting the medical records in a low voice and looked at Adam warily.
"Take it easy."
Adam laughed and said, "This medical record belongs to Dr. Burke, so it's not my place to fight you for it."
"It's good that you know."
Cristina breathed a sigh of relief, "I arrived at four o'clock for today's surgery."
"Surgery? What kind of surgery?"
Meredith immediately approached. "What information do you have?"
Liz and George also looked over.
"It's none of your business."
Cristina stuffed the notebook into her pocket, shaking her head repeatedly, unwilling to utter a single word.
Adam is right. He and she are not in the same group, so he can basically forget about taking her surgery. But Meredith, Liz, and Alex are in the same group as her and are her most direct competitors.
Even though she and Meredith are best friends, since they've come to this arena, they have to abide by the competition rules.
There are no best friends on the field!
She would never forget the moment Meredith stole her thunder.
Today is Friday.
Leonard's heart bypass surgery was scheduled for the morning.
Adam naturally had to go into the Operating Room, so he wasn't sent to the emergency room by Sheran.
Around noon.
Hospital cafeteria.
"Meredith, a great surgery."
Adam said with delight.
"Thanks."
Meredith exclaimed with delight, "It's extremely rare to find a skull that has been hit by seven 3.5-inch nails with a nail gun and not only survived without dying or damaging other nerves, but only had its optic nerve compressed."
We removed it precisely at the angle it was injected into, without any bleeding. The surgery was a complete success. I must say, Dr. Shepherd is truly a genius doctor.
"Hehe."
Adam couldn't help but smile.
"Hehe."
Cristina smiled in agreement, but her smile wasn't as cheerful.
Meredith lowered his head guiltily, ignoring the meaningful laughter of the two.
Dr. Shepherd is indeed wonderful, in every sense of the word. Just because she and he are indescribable doesn't mean we shouldn't let her talk about it, right?
"How are your preparations for pancreatectomy going?"
Adam looked at Cristina seemed a bit downcast and had completely lost her morning energy. "Is something not going well?"
How did you know?
Cristina suddenly looked up at him. "Do you know something?"
"I know she's a senior nurse at the Medical Center."
Adam cautioned, "Her health is very poor; she might not survive a pancreas removal..."
"I know, but she has to have the surgery, otherwise she'll just have to wait to die. Dr. Burke had me do all sorts of tests to prepare her for the worst..."
Cristina, having met Adam's knowing look, finally understood and gritted her teeth, saying, "Son of the bitch! She came in here to die! Burke knows! Everyone knows! Except me!"
