I Really Never Meant to Be Reborn (Please Vote!)
Karen's Home.
"No rain, so hurry up."
A flicker of envy and jealousy crossed long-legged Jennifer's eyes as she dragged Karen outside.
"Jennifer, even if we're going, at least let me change first."
Karen pleaded.
"Fine."
Jennifer sized up Karen, who looked like a country bumpkin, released her hand, then swayed in front of the full-length mirror and nodded. "In that case, I'll go back and change too. This outfit isn't enough. You should wear something cute too, okay?"
"Mm-hmm."
Karen nodded repeatedly.
After Jennifer left, Karen dug out an outfit from her closet. Once she had changed, she went to the full-length mirror to straighten herself up.
She knew that Jennifer's "wear something cute" carried a special meaning.
On the one hand, she couldn't dress too ordinarily, or Jennifer would lose face.
On the other hand, she couldn't dress too stunningly either, or she wouldn't serve to highlight Jennifer.
In other words, she could wear a crop top, but she absolutely couldn't wear a flat-chest showcase outfit.
That would expose her ferocious, utterly wicked nature—something Jennifer deeply detested.
They had grown up together as childhood friends. At their old school, one had been an unfashionable nobody, while the other had been a dazzling, universally adored cheerleader captain and campus belle.
Jennifer could have ignored her, just like countless fake besties did, but she hadn't. Karen was still her closest friend.
Some girls, consumed by envy and jealousy, had even spread malicious rumors that they were Lesbians. They mocked Karen as Jennifer's little follower who did whatever Jennifer told her to do.
That wasn't true at all. It was simply that her interests and hobbies were exactly the same as Jennifer's. They understood each other and would be best friends forever.
Thinking of this, Karen reached up and touched the heart-shaped pendant around her neck. It was engraved with the letters BFF—best friends forever.
How could Karen possibly let down a best friend like that?
"She's here."
Just as Karen stared sorrowfully at herself in the mirror, she suddenly jolted and hurried downstairs.
Sure enough, Jennifer, now wearing another outfit and looking even more glamorous and captivating, had just pushed open the front door.
This was yet another piece of proof that they would always be best friends. She could sense Jennifer, as mysteriously as she could use the Long-Armed Ape's methods to wield the Intelligent Stone Monkey's divine abilities and accurately forecast the weather.
Jennifer often joked that she could become a weather girl someday and definitely become famous around the world.
"Mm, not bad."
Jennifer carefully looked Karen over. Seeing that her outfit met her requirements, she nodded in satisfaction. "Let's go."
"Mm."
Karen smiled happily and quickly followed her.
Cooper's Home.
"George, come here."
"What is it?"
"Come look at our baby. Isn't he handsome?"
Little Sheldon's mother, Mary, praised extravagantly.
"Now that's my son. He's got some of my old charm."
Little Sheldon's father looked over Little Sheldon, who appeared handsome and dashing in a small black suit, and voiced the same sentiment as fathers everywhere.
"Oh, give me a break."
Mary rolled her eyes at him. "My baby is far more handsome than you."
Then she looked at Little Sheldon, who was adjusting his bow tie in front of the mirror. "Baby, you're so handsome."
"I know."
Little Sheldon nodded bluntly, confident as ever.
He did have reason to be confident.
If he hadn't been handsome and adorable, with his blunt personality, he might not have lived to adulthood. No, not adulthood—he might not even have made it through high school.
Ugly people made trouble, while good looks were justice. And in the eyes of the world, odd and eccentric Sheldon still counted as justice.
"Missy, are you ready?"
Mary called out.
"Can I not go?"
Missy pleaded.
"No."
Mary refused without hesitation. "Shelly is your twin brother. You should support him."
"Fine."
Missy answered listlessly and came out from the other room.
"Wow, whose little angel is this?"
Mary's eyes lit up as she exclaimed dramatically.
"Picked her up from a trash can."
Missy, dressed in an adorable princess gown, couldn't help but complain.
Worthy of being Little Sheldon's twin sister, the two of them were both blessed with looks that counted as justice.
In the future, when Missy went to visit Sheldon, Leonard, Howard, and Rajesh all fell for her at first sight. The three competed in every way over who would confess to Missy.
Even Sheldon, who had no interest in women, bluntly praised his sister Missy for indeed having looks and a figure that fit Western beauty standards.
However, Sheldon understood it differently. They were twins and shared genes. The genes Missy inherited might contain another version of him, perhaps one even smarter than himself. She could be called Sheldon 2.0. Therefore, it was perfectly normal for her looks and figure to be as flawless as his.
"Baby, this is an important moment in your life."
Mary couldn't be bothered with her daughter's complaints. She crouched down before Little Sheldon and said, "Later, if people ask whether you've ever been to a prom, you can say that you have, and that you even danced with a female partner."
"I would rather not have an experience with such ethically confused implications."
Little Sheldon retorted sharply.
"Alright, it's about time. We can leave now."
George really couldn't listen anymore and took the initiative to cut off the conversation. He drove Georgie Jr., while Mary drove Little Sheldon, Missy, and Grandma to the school.
County High School.
The prom for the Class of 1991 was underway.
"Hi, can we come in?"
"Of course."
Jennifer flashed a flirtatious smile at one of the party attendants and easily slipped inside with Karen.
"Look, that's Adam Duncan, the lead singer of Fruit Hard Candy Band!"
Jennifer pulled Karen around in a circle, her eyes shining as she looked at Adam preparing onstage. "Isn't he salty?"
"He's alright."
Karen answered perfunctorily.
In Jennifer's vocabulary, salty meant handsome.
"What do you think of that drummer?"
Jennifer put an arm around Karen and pointed at Emmett. "He suits you pretty well. He's Black, you know?"
"No, thanks."
Karen smiled awkwardly, but her gaze fell on Juno. Seeing her holding a guitar and looking so carefree and composed, she couldn't help spacing out.
"They're short two partners. Come on, let's go say hello first."
Jennifer gazed dreamily at Adam and couldn't resist pulling Karen toward the stage.
"Don't..."
Karen was somewhat reluctant, but Jennifer kept tugging her along. With her head lowered, she staggered toward the stage.
"They're just boys. As long as we want them, none of them can escape us."
"Hi, I'm Jennifer, and she's Karen. Nice to meet you?"
"Uh..."
Adam had been tuning his guitar. He looked up at the sound of the voice and immediately froze.
He had never expected this!
Adam stood amid the tangled web of highways... treasure girl Karen and white moonlight Jennifer... who should he choose?
