"Stop thinking about it. Come with me."

Adam patted Joey on the shoulder.

"Where to?"

Joey asked.

"To meet your son."

Adam smiled teasingly. "If your proposal succeeds, you won't just be your daughter's father—you'll be this boy's father too. That's a huge matter. Of course you need to meet him before you can consider it seriously."

"True."

Joey nodded.

Neonatology intensive care unit.

"Which one? Which one?"

Joey stood outside the glass window, peering inside expectantly. Pointing at one of the cutest babies, he asked, "Adam, is that him?"

"No."

Adam said, holding back a laugh.

Joey clearly had no idea what Noelle's boyfriend looked like. He pointed out several more babies he found cute, but Adam mercilessly shook his head every time.

"I can't guess. Just tell me."

Joey was no longer in the mood to guess.

There were so many babies in there. Who knew which one it was!

"Ready?"

Adam looked at him solemnly. "Look where I'm pointing. That is your future precious son!"

Joey followed Adam's finger, then froze completely. He looked away in disbelief, turned back to Adam, and flashed his classic Joey smirk. "You have to be messing with me, right?"

"I wish I were."

Adam shrugged.

"But, but how am I supposed to answer his questions in the future?"

Pulling a miserable face, Joey imitated his future stepson. "Dad, Dad, why are my sister and I different? One of us is black, and one of us is white?"

"What's so hard about that?"

Adam waved a hand. "If it really comes to that, tell him that when his mother was carrying him and his sister, she ate too much ice cream. She ate chocolate ice cream first, then vanilla ice cream afterward. Problem perfectly solved."
