Adam brought George to discuss the list with Richard, the Chief of Surgery.
Ordinary residents naturally had no choice but to accept whatever assignments they were given.
But with Adam, Richard, the Chief of Surgery, naturally had to notify him in advance and let him choose freely.
Since he did not know George would be following Adam.
Richard, the Chief of Surgery, had selected four in advance and prepared their files, waiting for Adam to confirm them before announcing the assignments.
Adam took the files and looked over the list. Satisfied with the preparation Richard, the Chief of Surgery, had done in advance, he gave George a meaningful look and crossed out one of the names.
George stood there awkwardly, his chubby face looking somewhat embarrassed.
One resident supervising four interns—neither too many nor too few—was a proven teaching model.
Now, because of him, an intern who should have been assigned to Adam had been squeezed out. For that intern, it was undoubtedly a tremendous loss.
But asking him to be magnanimous, uphold absolute justice, and voluntarily give up his spot was impossible too.
"Jessie, give this list to Administration and have the interns report to their respective residents."
Richard, the Chief of Surgery, made the change and handed the list to his secretary.
Adam left with George.

Cristina was bent over writing medical charts when she suddenly felt a shadow fall over her. She looked up and turned around, only to find two men and two women standing behind her, all wearing their brightest, most ingratiating smiles.
Damn it, was I like this back then too... No, I definitely wasn't!
Cristina mocked herself inwardly, then straightened up and turned to face the four
