Cristina listlessly tossed a potato chip into her mouth and complained, "Didn't you notice Sloan isn't here either? The Chief must have called them in to mediate.

Meredith advised, "They're colleagues. Don't take pleasure in their misfortune. It's best if Adam and Mark don't get into a fight. Don't forget, the Chairman of the Board is still hospitalized. If he saw it, the Chief would be in a difficult position too."

"What's so difficult about it?"

Cristina shrugged, eager for the drama to get bigger. "The Chief is retiring soon anyway. Whether they fight or not has nothing to do with him anymore.
