New York University Medical Center.

"Code 99!"

As Adam pressed the emergency button by the bedside and began resuscitation efforts on the boy, the doctors and nurses in charge of the ICU rushed in and took over from Adam.

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"

Leonard, standing there dumbfounded, could only keep inhaling his asthma inhaler and breathing heavily.

It was so tense and exciting!

He was terrified when Esther pushed him away and ran away.

Esther's brutality was certainly a contributing factor, but more significantly it was a consequence of the experiments conducted on him by his mother, Dr. Beverly Dr. Hofstadter.

The urinary tract feels quite smooth...

Over there, in the waiting area.

John's wife, Kate, continued arguing with John, trying to drive Esther out of their home and away from their children, but John wouldn't listen.

In his eyes, Esther was so obedient and well-behaved, and spoke so sweetly, how could she possibly be the devil his wife described?

The real devil is the wife who, after becoming depressed and irritable from alcoholism, blames everything on others.

Their deaf and mute little daughter, Max, became increasingly worried after Esther left under the pretext of buying soda.

Although she was afraid that Esther would harm her, her love for her Danny ultimately overcame her fear. After failing to find Esther at the vending machine, she finally understood and anxiously ran to her parents, tugging at her mother Kate's clothes.

"What's wrong, baby?"

Kate looked at Max with concern.

Before Max could even use sign language, the emergency button for Code 99 was already beeping in the hospital.

"Danny!"

Kate immediately realized what was happening and ran in panic towards the ICU.

"His heart has stopped; none of you are allowed to come in."

The nurse stopped Kate and her group.

"Danny!"

Kate pressed her face against the glass window in anguish, watching the doctors and nurses inside try to save her son.

"It's that little girl!"

Leonard, who had been kicked out, couldn't help but offer a reminder.

"Esther?!"

Kate, who had long seen through Esther's true colors, could no longer contain herself upon hearing this. Without even seeking further confirmation, she pushed away her husband John, who was holding her, and went to find Esther like a madwoman.

"Kate!"

John quickly gave chase.

Waiting area.

Esther, who had previously run away, did not escape. Instead, she bought a bottle of soda from a vending machine and stood there calmly drinking it.

"What did you do?! What did you do to him?! You bitch!"

Kate roared and rushed forward, using all her strength to slap Esther to the ground.

"Security! Security!"

The nurse quickly called out.

John rushed over and hugged Kate, who was trying to continue her attack.

"She tried to kill my child!"

Kate struggled to keep rushing forward.

"Daddy!"

Sitting on the ground, covering her face, Esther cried out to John, who loved her most, in a childish voice that didn't belong to her real age.

After the hospital security guards rushed over and grabbed Kate from both sides, John immediately ran to Esther's side, pulled her up with concern, glanced at Kate was struggling and screaming wildly with disgust, and then took Esther away with him.

Kate became even angrier and struggled more fiercely. Two more medical staff came over and injected a sedative into Kate's arm.

Within seconds, Kate lost consciousness and was taken to a ward by medical staff and security guards.

Leonard, who had come to watch, could hardly believe his eyes. It wasn't until Esther, who was being led away by John, turned back and glanced at him with such a strange and evil look, full of warning, that Leonard was startled and lowered his head, unable to look directly at her.

"Leonard, have you seen that little girl?"

Adam, having finished resuscitating the boy, came over and asked.

"Adam, let's go."

Leonard was almost in tears. "Just ignore her..."

"No!"

Adam, contrary to his initial hesitation and reluctance, refused, saying, "If we don't kill the snake, we'll only get hurt. If we witness her committing murder to silence us, who knows if she'll try to silence us too? You can't expect to be on guard against a thief the day before you commit a crime. We must expose her!"

"But, but, she's so scary..."

Leonard said in a trembling voice.

A boy was so terrified by a 'little girl' who looked only eight or nine years old. Compared to that, all the bullying he had experienced before seemed to pale in comparison.

"Then we must expose her!"

Adam said firmly, "Do you want to face her alone?"

"No!"

Leonard cried out in disbelief.

"Then let's go now."

Adam grabbed Leonard and chased after them.

Esther was hugging John's neck, enjoying John comfort, when she caught sight of Adam and Leonard approaching. Her cold gaze immediately startled Leonard.

Adam was also feeling uneasy. In the past, whether it was his ex-girlfriend Amazing Amy, or Juno and Karen, he knew their backgrounds. He was just scaring himself more than anything else.

But this time, Esther was completely different. Her gaze was fierce and eerie, truly intimidating, giving the feeling of watching a horror movie.

But reason told him that he had to confront the danger head-on and nip it in the bud!

"Mr. Coleman."

"What's up?"

John frowned at Adam, his expression grim.

Firstly, he was still comforting his 'good daughter' and didn't want to be disturbed, and secondly, Adam had seen him in a disheveled state several times, which made him very impatient with Adam.

"Your son suffered cardiac arrest because she smothered him with a pillow!"

Adam pointed at Esther and said, word by word, "Leonard and I saw it with our own eyes!"

"What?"

John was startled. He pulled Esther away from him and looked into her eyes. "Esther, is what they're saying true?"

"Daddy!"

Esther, a master of acting, looked bewildered and pitiful as she murmured meaningfully, "Did Mom send them? Are they Mom's friends?"

"You know Kate?"

John, touched again by Esther's calling him "Dad," followed the reminder from his "good daughter" and looked at Adam and Leonard with disgust. "Did she tell you to say that?"

"Mr. Coleman, open your eyes and look!"

Adam calmly said, "Don't tell me we don't know your wife. Even if we did, what reason do you think we have to risk committing a crime to help your wife and frame your daughter for abusing and killing your son?"

Don't let a few "Dad" calls make you forget basic common sense. Remember, that boy lying in the hospital bed, almost dying, also called you Dad; he's your own son!

John hesitated, because Adam was telling the truth. Whether they knew Kate or not, there was no reason for them to get involved in such a serious legal dispute.

In the United States, anything involving children is a big deal!

They'd be trying to avoid them, let alone come to them on their own initiative, especially not just one person.

Does Esther really have a problem?

"Daddy!"

Esther gave Adam and Leonard a venomous look, then turned and called out to John with endless bewilderment and longing.
