Adam's Utter Confusion

Medical Center.

Outside a hospital room.

Adam heard a female voice with a very distinctive British accent.

"When you insisted on coming to the United States, you wanted to escape us. Look at what you've become now—you got brainwashed stupid by that happy education, didn't you?!

Men should be like Deckard, playing with guns, cannons, and fast cars, speaking with their fists, and saving the world!

You ended up like this over a woman. Aren't you ashamed of yourself?!"

"You flew all the way from Britain just to laugh at me?"

Owen's voice came from inside.

"Of course not."

The distinctly British-accented female voice sounded again. "I'm busy enough as it is. There's far too much I need to learn—how would I have time to laugh at you?

I came to see someone. Seeing you was only incidental."

Just then, Adam reached the door and looked inside. A beautiful blonde with curly hair stood before Owen's hospital bed, mocking him mercilessly.

Although Adam's footsteps were light, her hearing and instincts were exceptionally sharp. When Adam reached the door and looked in, she turned to look at him as well.

Then the blonde beauty, who reminded Adam of G.E.M. from his previous life, flashed a sly smile and pointed at him. "Him!"
