Adam excised a tissue sample and had the nurse send it off for expedited testing.
He had a strong premonition.
Not letting Meredith join this surgery had absolutely been the wisest choice.
Mr. Aubrey's bad luck was already through the roof on its own.
Add Meredith to the mix, and it would truly be a Bad Luck Buff. He would be dead on the spot.
"Pancreatic cancer, Stage One."
The nurse walked in carrying the test report.
"Praise Meredith!"
Adam glanced through the data on the report while it was still in the nurse's hands and smiled. "This counts as a medical miracle. We've never discovered pancreatic cancer at such an early stage before."
"Has Mr. Aubrey's luck finally turned around?"
Shorty understood the significance as well and exclaimed in amazement.
By the time pancreatic cancer was discovered, it was usually already beyond saving.
Finding it this early was already a medical miracle.
"From the looks of it, once we remove the pancreatic tumor, Mr. Aubrey won't even need chemotherapy."
Adam nodded with a smile. "So yes, Mr. Aubrey's luck has really turned around!"
"After Mr. Aubrey wakes up, I'll have him sort through the list again for us."
Shorty looked like he was determined to shear every last bit of wool from a sheep he had caught.
Adam smiled and nodded, looking at Shorty approvingly. "Once he's reordered it, persuade him to buy a Powerball Lottery ticket. Buy a little yourself too. You might just achieve financial freedom overnight."
"Dr. Duncan, can we buy some too?"
Now even the anesthesiologist and Operating Room nurses could not stay calm.
"Buy together, but under no circumstances can any of you buy more than Mr. Aubrey does," Adam advised with a
