It had long known of Dao Qiongchang.
When Bei Huai had first begun his research into life, everyone had been greatly alarmed; some had resisted fiercely.
Only that youngster from the Heavenly Origin Emperor Realm had possessed a madness in his eyes that could not deceive.
Without question, Dao Qiongchang was also one who pursued the Dao to the extreme.
He had taken a profound interest in Bei Huai's research.
For a time, the two had regarded each other as kindred spirits. Dao Qiongchang had also been one of the few outsiders, as a member of another race, invited to visit Bei Huai's laboratory.
Yet in essence, Bei Huai and Dao Qiongchang were still somewhat different.
For the sake of research, Bei Huai could abandon everything, even human ethics. Even after being forbidden, he had gone from open to covert work; by the time he was discovered again, the situation had already become impossible to contain.
Dao Qiongchang, however, had limits. Though he too studied new life in dead objects—the Heavenly Mechanism Puppets—and went from open to covert work after being forbidden, he eventually shifted most of his energy toward the mundane affairs of the Spirit Refining Realm.
By comparison, the progress of his Dao research naturally fell far behind.
Medicine Ancestor had likewise shifted its gaze from both Bei Huai and Dao Qiongchang, focusing solely on Bei Huai and wholeheartedly nurturing this "one of its own."
Had Dao Qiongchang's experiments failed?

From the perspectives of the Dao Department and the Holy Mountain's higher-ups, he too had completed research into creating life from dead objects, stepping through the
