Unlike Tobesk's Dawn Church, which occupied the entirety of Dawn Square, Middhir Fort City's Dawn Church stood on a street in the city's southwest called Saint Carla Avenue. Though it was a streetside building, the church still covered a considerable area. It spanned the entire block, and besides its auditorium and offices, it even had its own garden and courtyard.
This church was far larger than Tobesk's Dawn Square, which was also related to Tobesk's expensive land prices.
Shade did not dare enter the church, lest he be discovered. Nor did he need to, because after approaching Saint Carla Avenue, he carefully took out the blood in an alley and dripped it into his eyes. When he looked toward the entrance of Dawn Church again, he could clearly see Priest Augustus's path of movement, formed from a crimson halo.
"At least at this time yesterday, Priest Augustus hadn't come to harm!"
Shade reached that conclusion.
There was more than one image of Priest Augustus walking out from the entrance of Dawn Church, indicating that the Old Priest had passed through the entrance several times within the past twenty-four hours. Shade chose the darkest image—the latest one in time—to track.
Perhaps because of the city's original purpose when it was built, the streets of Middhir Fort City were generally rather wide. Street trees and Gas Street Lamps alternated along both sides of the roads.
After leaving Dawn Church, Priest Augustus first paced beneath the lamppost outside the church for a while, as though examining an advertisement for the Cassandra Auction House on the post. Then, he headed east along the street.
