Shade used the Philosopher’s Stone and his own persistence to reverse the story in the illusion, enduring severe backlash until the Mist Lady’s appearance restored him. He then made the story’s ending real, and the chapter left him facing Ms. Sandel’s statue and considering whether mortal persistence could change the world.

• Shade used the Philosopher’s Stone to fuel Breath of Time and began reversing the story, suffering devastating physical and spiritual backlash.
• Shade continued reversing the scenes until the story returned to the Mermaid Princess frolicking underwater, then collapsed from exhaustion.
• Shade declared that he would save the Mermaid Princess because she had saved him, and Little Mia’s sparks helped him see the figure in the mist.

Shade and Illustrious Miss explored the Light Family’s Underground Tomb Area and rescued Claude Bins from its undead guardians. After Illustrious Miss used hypnosis to learn that Claude belonged to Eternal Light, Shade asked him for the clues that had led him to the ancient Ring Arcanist’s relic.

• Shade and Illustrious Miss dispelled the tomb’s illusions with a glowing crystal and made their way deeper into the labyrinthine passages.
• Shade found Claude Bins trapped behind a relic shield and destroyed the undead attacking him with Sunlight Ray and Crimson Moon.
