Chapter Summaries

Shade entered the Mountain Top Ruins with the All-Number-One Society’s “Father,” then split from Winnie to investigate the Temple while she searched for Stella and the others. At the Temple, Shade found Miss Pawo waiting beside the murals, curious to see how the story of Destiny would end.

• Shade flew to the summit with Winnie, cut through the enemies, and brought the “Father” into the Path of Atonement.
• Shade told the “Father” to search for Upper Spring, then entered the ruins with Winnie and sent her to help Stella and the others find it.
• Shade headed for the Temple, believing the Seventh Act needed to end before Mr. Snake could appear in his main body.
• Shade found the Temple more eroded than before and saw that the Seventh Mural, depicting the Drowned Ghost Tavern, was more than half complete.
• Shade met Miss Pawo at the Temple, where she explained that she had come because she was curious about Destiny and how its story would end.

Shade spoke with Miss Pawo about the Difference Engine and Hermons’s rebirth plan before continuing through the Temple corridor. He reached a low stone door beyond the wall where the Golden Ouroboros Wheel hung.

• Miss Pawo explained that the [Miracle] fate she acquired was intended to help resolve difficulties in building the Difference Engine, though she refused to reveal its purpose.
• Miss Pawo told Shade that Hermons planned to die and be reborn so he could advance to the Thirteenth Ring again and test the [Blood Spirit School]’s pursuit of the Golden Bloodline.
• Miss Pawo said Hermons had abandoned his plan to let Shade kill him and had returned to the New Continent, where his rebirth could produce results within half a year.
• Shade questioned whether the Difference Engine’s construction differed from the [Blood Spirit School]’s pursuit of the Golden Bloodline, and Miss Pawo said its consequences could only be judged after it was tested.
• Shade walked past the wall with the Golden Ouroboros Wheel and sent the Silver Light Orb down the dusty corridor, where it illuminated a low stone door.

Shade found a mural of the Upper Spring while Stella and Ellie uncovered the hidden spring beneath a cliff. Stella and Ellie entered its water as Flora, Leisha, Dorothy, and the others fought Mr. Snake’s swarm outside.

• Shade examined the snake-marked stone door and recognized a mural showing the spring Stella’s group sought.
• Ellie found a hidden spot in the cliff, broke through it, and revealed a waterfall concealing a passage to Upper Spring.
• Flora explained how Ellie’s connection with Unicorns could let her gain their powers, while Leisha hinted that Shade had helped Sivie advance to Thirteenth Order.
• Stella and Ellie reached the glowing spring, and Flora encouraged Stella to focus on condensing her Ring of Fate.
• Mr. Snake’s snakes emerged from the snow, and Flora, Leisha, Dorothy, Little Liana, Grace, and Helen fought them outside.
• Ellie and Little Mia vanished into the spring, and Stella followed them into the water.

Stella awakened the Ring of Fate [Germination] after reliving a flower’s struggle through winter, while Ellie forged the apple of [Innocence] with help from three demigod Witches. Stella emerged from Upper Spring and discovered the Cat guarding a ring of [Promise] as the final battle of Destiny began.

• Stella relived the life of a flower on the Great Ice Cap and awakened her second Ring of Fate, [Germination].
• Blaine Olanode caught Ellie and brought her to a greenhouse where Chloe, Miss Feliana, and Violet helped complete her apple of [Innocence].
• Chloe urged Ellie to return, help Shade, and shine on the Stage of Fate, promising they would meet again soon.
• Stella emerged from Upper Spring and sensed that Ellie, Mr. Mortis, and the priest from The All-Number-One Society were still in the water.
• Stella found the Cat beside the pool with a ring beneath its paws and identified its Destiny as [Promise].

Stella saw through Snake’s illusion and learned that the Seventh Act had ended, while Snake was trapped in the Temple. As Ring Arcanists fled the Temple during a mountain collapse, Stella waited at the entrance and watched them emerge.

• Stella escaped Snake’s illusion by striking her rings together and found Lady White guarding the Upper Spring entrance.
• Lady White told Stella that the Seventh Act had ended, Snake was struggling to break free inside the Temple, and the others had gone there to fight.
• Stella entered the Temple and Miss Pawo warned her that the others were coming out as the mountain began to shake.
• The ruins and snow collapsed into a vast sinkhole, and Miss Ingram, Professor Miller Stewart, Little Liana, and other Ring Arcanists flew out.
• The Chosen One of Space summoned two Pointy-eared Elves, an Undead Dragon, and a Silver Dragon, while Shade carried the exhausted Flora toward the Temple.

After escaping the seal as the Snake began to break free, Shade and the others regrouped at the Temple and prepared for the coming battle. Shade exchanged his accumulated points for the Ring of Miracles, which revealed that he could spend it in the Temple to make a wish affecting Destiny.

• Stella reached the Temple with the survivors as the ruins collapsed, and Shade explained that the Snake’s seal contained a false world of yellow sand.
• Shade recounted that the Snake had forced everyone into the depths of the seal, where they fought it to a draw before escaping; it would take several minutes for its true body to return.
• Stella showed her two Rings of Fate and said Upper Spring could create more, while the group wondered where Charatu and another candidate had gone and discussed how to choose the Chosen One.
• Nightmare Witch said the Sun Church’s artifact could hold the mountain together until dawn, after which they might have to use a second plan to contain the Snake.
• Shade exchanged his points at the altar and received the Ring of Miracles, which made unlikely and unpredictable events more likely and could be consumed in the Temple to make a wish affecting Destiny.

As the Serpent of Doomsday began breaking free from Fatumonst Snow Mountain, the Church and the Fatu Elders struggled to reinforce its seal. Shade confronted the colossal Snake at the Fate Ruins, but his Fate Stance and a crimson Earth Energy Cannon barely affected it.

• At the City of Time Wheels, Mr. Pierre Granger warned that the Stone Chain would break within two hours, and the Guardian of the Earth arrived to help maintain it.
• Elder Harald, Elder Vilda, Elder Ursa, Elder Solin, and Elder Ule offered their blood to summon the echoes of their ancestors, who reinforced the Snow Mountain and joined the battle.
• The Fate Ruins appeared fully in the Material World, where Stella and the others saw the Serpent of Doomsday emerge from a vast opening beneath the ruins.
• Shade stepped forward to face the Snake, which questioned how he had escaped the mountain's foot and said its molting was incomplete.
• Shade unleashed Fate Stance while an ally fired an Earth Energy Cannon, but the Snake weakened and absorbed both attacks without suffering real harm.

The defenders fought the Serpent of Doomsday as it emerged from the Snow Mountain, while Lady White transferred her remaining power to Winnie to strengthen the seal. The Snake’s forces kept growing, and the chapter ended as the battle intensified with the arrival of seven Doomsday Ring Bearers.

• Shade, Iluna, Emilia, the Great Witches, and other allies attacked the Snake as it emerged from the ruins.
• Father chose to leave for the Temple rather than join the battle, while Mr. Mortis set out to discuss the Rings of Sacrifice and Protection with Lady White.
• Lady White asked the Cat to watch over the sacred beast, then gave nearly all her remaining power to Winnie.
• Winnie used the Snow Mountain’s power to bind the Snake more tightly with frost, slowing its escape from the seal.
• Seven Ring Bearers bearing Doomsday Rings joined the Snake’s forces and helped it survive its vulnerable moment.

Iluna prepared to strike the Serpent of Doomsday with the Sword of Light as its hidden sea head attacked the Mountain Top Ruins, forcing the Butterfly Wings Girl and others to intervene. On the mountainside, Doctor Schneider pursued Katerin Schwartz while Priest Augustus treated the Old Keeper of Secrets, who revealed that the [Prophecy Spinning Wheel] had controlled the [Misfortune Order] from the beginning.

• The six Great Witches, Shade, Iluna, and their allies fought the Serpent of Doomsday as its power continued to rise.
• Shade restrained a snake head while Iluna drew Night Watchman and prepared a Crimson Lightning-charged Sword of Light strike.
• A second snake head erupted from beneath the sea and fired destructive black light toward the Mountain Top Ruins, where the Butterfly Wings Girl blocked it.
• Mr. Albert, Claire, Gaiana Lis Brown, and other Church forces headed toward the sea to support the defense.
• Katerin Schwartz attacked the Old Keeper of Secrets, but Doctor Schneider severed her Threads of Fate with his Flying Sword, prompting her to flee as he pursued her.
• Priest Augustus treated the Old Keeper of Secrets, who explained that the [Prophecy Spinning Wheel] had controlled the [Misfortune Order] since they entered Fated Story.

Old Mr. Charat revealed that the Prophecy Spinning Wheel had been controlled by the serpent, which planned to complete its molting by destroying thirteen Destiny Ring Bearers. After Lady White lent Doctor Schneider the Protection ring, he defended the island from the serpent’s attack while Charat and Priest Augustus went to the mountaintop Temple.

• Old Mr. Charat told Priest Augustus that the Future Diary fragment exposed the serpent’s control of the Spinning Wheel and its plan to destroy the thirteen Ring Bearers.
• Doctor Schneider said he had killed the Misfortune Order’s Candidate and taken the Red Ring, which had resonated with him.
• Lady White stripped away the fate of Protection and lent its ring to Doctor Schneider before disappearing.
• Priest Augustus took Old Mr. Charat to the mountaintop Temple so the Chosen of Fate could compete for qualification.

Ellie transformed into a unicorn and used her Words of Sublimation to collide with the serpent’s Doomsday Mystic Lock, damaging its main body. As the powers shattered, Shade and Iluna fused, leaving Shade with four resonating Destiny Rings facing the serpent.

• Luvia told Bella to prepare the young ladies to enter the battlefield as the serpent’s transformation began.
• The serpent’s yellow sand spread Doomsday through the ruins, but Iluna struck it with her Sunlight Gun while Shade broke free.
• Ellie ate her gold Fate Apple, transformed into a unicorn, and expanded her Words of Sublimation to clash with the serpent’s Mystic Lock.
• Ellie’s Words of Sublimation and the Mystic Lock shattered together, leaving glowing white patches on the serpent and sending Ellie tumbling toward the Temple.
• Emilia caught Ellie, and Shade reflected the serpent’s black beam back into its mouth with his four Destiny Rings.

Shade and Iluna fused their powers and used seven destinies to destroy the giant serpent at Fatumonst Snow Mountain. The serpent’s death proved temporary when another explosion erupted from the Bottom of the World, blasting several allies away and leaving the battle’s outcome uncertain.

• Shade fused with Iluna and used the seven destinies to identify the serpent’s main body and wound it with Fate-powered attacks.
• Adele directed allies to reinforce the Ocean and seek Sylvia while she and Galina prepared to fight the serpent’s forces.
• Shade unleashed a combined strike of Moonlight Slash, Falling Star Strike, and Sunlight Gun, destroying the serpent and its summoned monsters without collapsing the mountain.
• Shade and Iluna found a Black Ring of Fate and realized it was [Destruction]’s ring, not the one from the apocalypse.

Mr. Snake completed his molting and unleashed doomsday across the ruins and much of the Material World. Luvia, Angelina, Adele, Sister Devlin, Stella, and other allies gathered to face him, leaving the Serpent of Doomsday astonished by the number of people who stood against him.

• Black light blasted Ellie toward Oracle Plaza as Mr. Snake’s power spread across the island and altered the world’s rules.
• Mr. Snake emerged beneath a dim yellow pillar of light, and Luvia revealed his plan and took up the [Destruction] ring.
• Luvia, Angelina, and Adele joined forces against Mr. Snake with their resonant fates.
• Mr. Mortis delivered [Sacrifice] and [Protection] to Sister Devlin, who joined the battle.
• Father gave Stella the [Tenacity] ring, and she resonated with [Ice and Snow] and [Germination] before returning to the battlefield.
• Mr. Albert, the Earth Guardians, Miss Eden, and other Ring Arcanists gathered around Mr. Snake, who wondered how so many had come to oppose him.

Ellie joined the Unicorn herd at Oracle Plaza and used the Holy Bell with [Luck] to send a wave of fortune across the island, strengthening her allies against Mr. Snake’s apocalyptic transformation. Elsewhere, the sea battle and ordinary ships were engulfed by the spreading disaster, while Claire awoke in a ruined version of Kael-Todd Town and resisted the pull of a black sun.

• Ellie found [Luck]'s ring at the center of Oracle Plaza, where Little Liana arrived with the Holy Bell and hundreds of Unicorns.
• The Unicorn herd accepted Ellie, whose species-linked destiny awakened Spirit Runes and strengthened her second ring, [Luck].
• Ellie rang the Holy Bell, and its resonance with [Luck] and the Unicorns spread exceptional luck to her allies across the island and Starfall Bay.
• Yellow sand and the changed sky caused chaos among the ships; Major Rades organized the White Pearl's survivors and helped bring the vessel under control.
• Claire awoke among ruins resembling Kael-Todd Town and saw a black sun that began drawing her soul toward it, but she sensed something was wrong.

Claire overcame Doomsday’s attempt to consume her, claimed the Ring of Fate [Dawn], and advanced to the Twelfth Order as the survivors retreated from the sea battlefield. Meanwhile, Emilia fell into the Sunken Monastery of Talmont, where a mysterious fishing hook pulled a ring from the relic and offered her a chance to escape.

• Claire recognized her own golden radiance within the black sun, embraced her power over ice and fire, and awakened as a Twelfth Order Great Witch holding [Dawn].
• Megan told Claire that Doomsday had arrived and the battlefield was collapsing, then pointed out that Sivie had advanced to the Thirteenth Order and was protecting the retreat with a seven-colored barrier.
• The Shedding Snake severed Emilia’s connection to the World Tree Sapling, knocking her from the mountaintop and into the underwater Sunken Monastery of Talmont.
• Emilia realized the monastery had trapped her underwater and that she would need to find and burn its blasphemous research to escape.
• After a bell rang, the Hook of Erl entered the monastery through its chimney and pulled out a jade-green ring, giving Emilia hope of escaping.

Emilia reclaimed the Nature ring, received the Warrior ring, and led elite elf guards toward the mountaintop while Daniste stayed to defend the city. Iluna landed at the end of Pilgrim's Path and found a strange card that would let its holder command Shade until the end of 1855.

• Emilia grabbed the Nature ring from the lake, restored her connection to Throne Land, and was rescued by Daniste.
• Daniste gave Emilia the Warrior ring, which had been brought from the Dawn Church after a Twelfth Ring Gentleman sacrificed himself to hold the city defense line.
• Emilia led a squad of elite elf guards, including Grandma Qishala, toward the mountaintop while Daniste remained behind to protect the city and town.
• Iluna escaped Mr. Snake's attack in midair but crashed onto a ridge she recognized as the end of Pilgrim's Path.
• After hearing a bell that increased her Luck, Iluna found a Command Card that allowed its holder to make Shade do anything until December 31, 1855.

Iluna reached the end of Pilgrim's Path and learned that she could choose a fate for an empty ring. She gave up the fate of [Hero] and chose [Happiness], wishing for Shade to live happily forever.

• Iluna regretted taking Luvia's Command Card and tried to retrieve the [Youthful Immortality Leaf], but she fell down the ridge and passed through an archway.
• Winnie appeared, returned Iluna's leaf, and explained that the pilgrimage offered a chance to condense a Ring of Fate.
• Winnie gave Iluna the Command Card and an empty ring, telling her she could choose the fate it would hold.
• Iluna realized that her deepest wish was to save Shade and wished for him to live happily forever.
• Iluna used the Command Card to imbue the ring with [Happiness], abandoning [Hero].

Iluna gained control of her crimson lightning as the other Chosen Ones regrouped, and Dorothy and Leisha went to Upper Spring to condense a Ring of Fate. Trapped inside Fatumonst Snow Mountain after the molted Snake struck him, Shade dug through the mountain and followed a mysterious passage until he sensed the First Fire.

• Iluna flew toward the mountain summit while Winnie continued restraining the mountain, and the Snake’s attack left Dorothy, Leisha, Grace, and Helen unable to fuse for ten minutes.
• Dorothy and Leisha entered Upper Spring behind a waterfall to condense their Destiny, while Grace and Helen stayed behind to guard the area.
• Shade survived the Snake’s blow but found himself trapped inside the mountain by black fog, so he began digging through the rock with his Thaumaturgy.
• A bell rang as Shade dug, and Fate Manual revealed that Ellie’s use of the Holy Bell had increased his Luck.
• Shade broke into an ancient passage with two branching paths, chose the snowy left path, and emerged in an underground cave where he sensed the First Fire.

Shade found the First Fire and the gifts Violet, Theresa, and Sister Belen had left in the Snow Mountain Sacrificial Ground. He used Violet’s Wax Stone to summon her, and she prepared to join the battle against the Destiny of the Sixth Epoch’s end.

• Shade used Lady White’s snake scale to enter the sealed Sacrificial Ground and found the First Fire.
• Shade opened Violet’s Walnut Box and discovered Theresa’s Sure-Kill Handgun, a Philosopher’s Stone, and a Wax Stone designed to reduce the cost of summoning a Witch.
• Shade used the Wax Stone to summon Violet, who appeared in his era and reunited with him.
• Shade told Violet to help at the mountaintop against the Destiny of the Sixth Epoch’s end and mentioned the Ring of Fate.
• Violet produced the Destiny of [Ageless Appearance] and said that condensing Destiny was easy amid the turmoil.

Shade escaped the underground Sacrificial Ground with Violet, who joined the battle against the Serpent of Doomsday, then reached Oracle Plaza to prepare for an important task. He found Ellie and the Unicorns sheltering there and urged them to leave, while Ellie gave him the Destinies of Innocence and Luck.

• Violet led Shade out of the Sacrificial Ground, and Shade absorbed the First Fire, healing the Snake's injuries to him.
• Violet used a hidden Teleportation Gate to bring Shade to the Witch's Tower, where Sylvia reported the battle's progress and Violet went to aid the fighters.
• Sylvia revealed that the Witch's Tower had been built above the ruins and had helped conceal the First Fire seal.
• Shade went to Oracle Plaza and found Ellie, Little Mia, and the Unicorns sheltering from the yellow sand.
• Ellie offered Shade the Destiny of Innocence and the Destiny of Luck, but Shade told her to keep them and asked her and the Unicorns to leave the plaza.
