"Crying Angel. No one knows its exact origins. It is suspected to be an erroneous incarnation discarded by some ancient existence. Its exact number is unknown. Every one of them takes the form of an angel weeping behind covered faces."
Shade knew the Doctor was telling him exactly what kind of relic this was.
"In its ordinary state, a Crying Angel is an indestructible statue. But once the gazes of two or more different creatures fall upon it, the relic is officially activated. Once it begins moving, the Crying Angel lowers the hands covering its face. In that state, any creature that sees its face will be petrified; any creature that touches it will vanish completely from the Material World; and any flesh-and-blood body that attempts to stop it will be devoured and assimilated into a new angel.
"A Crying Angel is essentially some sort of higher-dimensional creature. It harbors immense malice toward mortal life, and once it begins moving, every mortal nearby becomes its target. Any attempt to depict a Crying Angel through text, images, or similar means will create new Crying Angels; mortals who know what a Crying Angel looks like become breeding grounds for new Crying Angels; unstable aberrant souls are its favorite prey, and it enjoys snatching such souls and occupying their bodies. It is not a good angel. It is an Evil Angel."
The Doctor spoke very quickly. He knew how dangerous this thing was:
