The open terrain left everything around him plainly visible, yet just as last time, Shade still saw no trace of Miss Chloe and her two companions.
He could not rashly search in every direction. The blizzard would quickly cover his tracks. If he lost his bearings and forgot where he had started, he might never find his way back.
Just as he was considering unleashing the light of the Silver Moon to draw the witch's attention, he suddenly noticed that on the other side of the ridge, some extremely faint White Fog seemed to be dispersing in the blizzard.
He could not be sure whether it was merely an illusion, but he still climbed the ridge against the wind, then rolled down the snowy slope again.

It was a hot spring at the foot of the ridge. The White Fog Shade had seen was actually hot steam. He could not understand why there would be a hot spring in such an environment, and only when he drew closer did he realize that the spring was actually some kind of relic.
The god Winter Maiden stood beside the spring, barefoot, with silver hair cascading down her head and a long staff in hand. Thus, even though Shade did not wish to approach a relic in such a strange place, he still walked over through the wind and snow.
