Shade chose not to take a carriage. Instead, he walked with Margaret through the deep night streets:
"The destination isn't far, only two blocks from here."
Shade said. Her Royal Highness the Princess did not care about that. With her hands behind her back, she walked beside Shade, occasionally turning to look at him as she listened to him speak of the stories he had encountered in this city.
"You seem to always run into unexpected situations?"
There was no one else on the streets on that deep winter night, only two solitary figures strolling side by side. Margaret walked very slowly. Even knowing that their final time together tonight would eventually end, she still wanted to make it pass more slowly.
"Not always. The other friends I know are the ones always running into all sorts of unexpected situations. Like Doctor Schneider, whom you've met."
Thinking of the doctor, Shade smiled:
"And my friend at The Church as well. Yes, the one you met at the Opera House."
As the two spoke, a commotion arose at the intersection ahead. Shade stopped first, then raised a hand to signal Margaret to pause.
Before long, a group of people in police uniforms hurried over, seeming to chase something invisible. They noticed the two by the roadside as well. One of the ladies said something to the middle-aged man leading them, then walked alone toward Shade and Margaret:
"Shade, good evening!"
It was Iluna. She looked somewhat more mature in a police uniform:
"See? We were just talking about her, and she appeared. Good evening, Iluna."
Shade said with a smile. Only then did Iluna notice who was beside Shade. She looked surprised, but immediately smiled again:
"Honestly, don't wander around nearby. We're chasing an invisible thing connected to the new Keeper
