Most Bloodkin living in Huntington were involved in vineyard and winery operations, or related upstream and downstream industries. The Church naturally knew of their existence, but as long as they did not drink human blood, it tacitly allowed Bloodkin and humans to live together locally.
The Same Race Mr. Bernhardt mentioned was Orlan Wilson, a broker living in the western part of the city who introduced local winery business to wine merchants from elsewhere. Mr. Wilson himself was a Third Ring Arcanist, thirty-four years old, proficient in divination, and still unmarried.
He was not especially close to Mr. Bernhardt, but due to business matters, he visited Mr. Bernhardt's estate every holiday season.
"This spring, he went to the New Continent to visit friends and unexpectedly acquired a rather troublesome relic—a dagger. Somehow, the Pantanal Voodoo Society learned about it and wanted to buy the relic, but Wilson did not want to sell it to them. So he came to me, hoping I would take the relic off his hands."
Mr. Bernhardt explained that not only was he powerful, but he also held the title of Viscount in Kassenric. The Pantanal Voodoo Society would not dare lay hands on an aristocrat of his standing.
The carriage soon brought them to Red Wine Alley, where Mr. Wilson lived. The area was also the largest wine trading hub in eastern Huntington.
Mr. Wilson lived alone at No. 20 Red Wine Alley, a three-story building with no attic. Mr. Bernhardt told Shade that Mr. Wilson used the 1st Floor as his office, while the floors above were his residence.
The two got out of the carriage chatting and laughing, but after Mr. Bernhardt knocked on the door, they waited a long time without anyone answering.
"Could he be out?"
