Captain Woody stood with his hands behind his back as well, gazing at the children on the river beneath the late winter wind. Both hands gripping his cane, he stood remarkably steady.
"No, I think you can kill Osenfott. Though I didn't dare approach The Church, over the years I sought out others as well, hoping to take revenge on Osenfott. But as soon as they heard about an ancient Demon, they were so frightened that they never contacted me again. Only you are different. You may look young, but the Pride you carry is beyond anyone else's."
"Pride?"
Shade smiled.
"Give me the photographs and letters, and I'll deal with Osenfott. If possible, I can also try to take care of your problem."
He could bring Doctor Schneider here to take a look later. Doctor Schneider certainly would not mind having one more target.
"Rescue that child, and I'll give you the photographs and letters."
The old man said.
"What?"
Shade raised an eyebrow, then saw Captain Woody's eyes turn toward the children on the ice as he counted down:
"Three, two, one."
As his voice fell, an extremely soft crack sounded, and one of the boys plunged straight into an ice hole. This was not some trick Captain Woody had arranged. It was likely another ability he had gained from the Demon, allowing him to know who would fall into the water:
"Oh, I told them just now not to play on the ice carelessly!"
Worried that the hole in the ice might widen further, the other children wanted to save their friend but did not dare approach it. Shade had already run over. He told the children not to come closer, then stomped through a larger section of ice, widening the hole enough for himself to pass
