Shade frowned slightly.
"So, the Edwards Family of Green Lake Town—is it one of those supposedly ancient Ring Arcanist families?"
"Most likely not."
Miss Danist shook her head slightly.
"I only obtained this clue last week. According to my investigation of the Edwards Family, they were merely an ordinary family. It's just that mortals always have all manner of endlessly unsatisfied pursuits. The evidence currently indicates that, before Green Lake Town at the center of the lake was destroyed, that family had been attempting to obtain the Elixir of Immortality."
Ordinary people with neither knowledge nor talent who delved into mysticism often created quite serious trouble. The most common reasons for researching mysticism were "Spirit Communication, or even reviving deceased relatives or loved ones" and "seeking a longer life." Seeking greater wealth or more powerful strength was comparatively less common.
