"That battle was truly difficult."

The Doctor continued recounting his younger days:

"I fought as I fled, and fled as I fought. I barely managed to seize the evil—cough, cough—the dangerous Ancient Evil Object, seriously wounded two Mid-Ring Arcanists, and blinded one eye each of those pair of Low-Ring Arcanist twins. They had spatial abilities and kept pursuing me relentlessly. In the end, I was still badly wounded. Fortunately, I used dream illusions to delay that High-Ring Arcanist and escaped back to Tobesk City before the Invisible Man appeared."

Bill Schneider smiled as he spoke, clearly quite pleased with the adventure he recalled:

"I later heard that they searched for me for some time, but that was more than a decade ago. They would never have guessed that I was a middle-class bachelor running a psychiatric clinic in Tobesk City. If the Mirror Society hadn't come up today, even I would nearly have forgotten about it. I wonder whether those two Low-Ring Arcanists whose eyes I blinded ever recovered their sight. I remember being quite ruthless at the time; that kind of eye damage would be difficult to heal."

Everyone knew that Doctor Schneider had once had quite an impressive past, so they were only mildly surprised to hear him speak of it.

Dorothy believed the Doctor's account of how the story ended, but doubted some of the details. After all, the Doctor from more than a decade ago certainly could not have been as strong as his current seven-ring self.

Luvia, meanwhile, frowned, likely pondering that Angel Level mirror and trying to find a way to deal with it. After all, the Mirror Society had become deeply involved in the search for the Space Chosen One.
