Little Mia curled even deeper into Shade's arms, leaving only the upper half of her face exposed. As she looked around, she noticed the blazing campfire. The flames seemed reflected in the cat's large amber eyes, but she obediently refrained from leaping out of Shade's embrace.
Because cats disliked rain.
Of course, since the surroundings were so dark, Shade failed to notice that when Little Mia appeared, the god fishing toward the sea seemed to turn slightly and glance over. But that was not important. With Miss Teresa, he had already awakened the other three ladies.
Their mental states were all terrible, at least far worse than Miss Teresa's, who could still cry, feel shy, and be curious. After Shade woke them, they had no idea what they had done while unconscious. Only when they stretched out their hands toward the campfire for warmth did their spirits improve somewhat.
Fortunately, their memories were still normal. They remembered what had happened when Shade came last time, as well as the fishing and investigation into the sinking of the Radiance Messenger.
Shade had only half an hour and no time to provide psychological counseling for each of them. Once their emotions had temporarily stabilized, he asked his question:
"While I was gone, did you recall any new details? Were there really no signs at all before the ship sank? Miss Teresa just remembered that Violet Majesty once said that traces of a deep-sea evil—the Seven-Tailed Player—had appeared along the Radiance Messenger's route two months ago. But it was not the main body."
This was actually something they had learned from the Blonde Young Lady's memories during the previous fishing trip.
Pale-faced Miss Maxim, Professor Evans, and Miss Maron carefully searched their memories again, but gained nothing more specific.
Shade then asked a
