Shade looked at the photograph as the Bloodkin continued speaking:
"The Draconic Runes on it are ancient, right? I can't recognize them either, but I believe this is a stone carving from the end of the Fifth Epoch, recording a transaction between the ancestors of the Seven Great Families and some powerful being. However, the Church's researchers seem to believe that these are remnants from an even older era, a story spanning from the end of the Fourth Epoch to the beginning of the Fifth Epoch. They say it has nothing to do with the Seven Great Families and instead involves certain secrets that are even harder to put into words. Ha, those Church researchers aren't all that capable."
Sir Donald spoke with a trace of disdain. Shade blinked but did not point out that his own research and speculation might have been the incorrect ones.
Shade then looked towards the other photographs. Unfortunately, only the first photograph he had received contained runes whose contents could be clearly identified.
He understood that the information mentioned in those ancient runes most likely pointed to the Ancient God War Illustrious Miss had mentioned. But when Shade tried to ask Sir Donald more about the legends of that divine war, the bespectacled Bloodkin knew nothing at all about those stories. Instead, he asked Shade where he had heard such information.
Sir Donald appeared to have decided that every legend related to "dragons" in this city was connected to the Seven Great Families. Yet Shade was certain that the Seven Great Families had not existed when that Ancient God War occurred.
"May I ask where the excavation corresponding to this photograph was conducted? Where are the ruins located?"
Shade asked again, and Sir Donald recalled for a moment:
"In the Poisonous Swamp northwest of
