As they spoke, a low, hoarse roar emerged from the viscous darkness shrouding this lightless street. But this time, it was not a Dragon Roar—it was a sound forced from a human throat, like the delirious muttering of someone on the verge of death.

Emilia had already summoned her Destiny Ring, but even its glow could not illuminate very far. Having gathered her courage, the Elf Girl had decided to be of help this time. Of course, her left hand was still tightly gripping Luvia's.

Following the sound, Shade turned eastward and looked toward where the street stretched into the distance. Then he slightly raised his head and met Mr. Goodman's gaze high above.

Those eyes were even larger than Shade himself. As the thing hidden in the dark sky revealed its full form, all three of them saw Mr. Goodman's enormous head slowly descend from the darkness overhead. As Shade raised his sword to illuminate a wider area, they could even see that it was a giant humanoid figure crawling along the street like a reptile, its two arms braced against the tall buildings on either side while its head opened its mouth and gradually approached the ground.

Looking more carefully, however, it was not a human body at all. Beneath Mr. Goodman's head were directly connected two thick arms.

Inside that gaping mouth, countless blood-red bodies of normal-sized Mrs. Goodman, boys, girls, and puppies were connected to every surface of the oral cavity. Together, they waved at the three people on the dark street:

"Would you like to visit my home?"

The chaotic chorus resonated with a bewitching power. Emilia steadfastly resisted it with her own Spiritual Power, only to discover that neither Shade nor Luvia had summoned their Destiny Rings, and neither of their expressions had changed.
